Yep. You can do a pure run. Obviously less content doing it that way but it still unlocks the gallery replays so you can go back and see what you want without having to feel like you're 'losing'.

The lag from earlier versions seems to be entirely fixed, and the godawful lasers in the last area no longer send you all the way to the title screen. Definite improvement!

Haven't found the lock myself but I found "AGAVE" in Map046.json I also found the same password in game through a cave north of where you spawn after getting captured in the demon area
