You know what? I am an idiot... For some reason I thought this was from Pupsi who made 'A Goblins Tale'. I was wrong. What is the dev's other game? I don't see it on their Patreon or Substar, and searching GameBear here only pulls up this thread.
It's kind of a VN, as in the story and interactions are images like in a RenPy game, but you move around in a rather simplistic looking 3d game world, which was made in unity. I attached an image as an example.Hi, is this a real time render 3d game or VN? because from the screenshots it look like a visual novel.
You have bed in barn nearby the forest entranceSo dunno if this is fixed in 0.2.8, but, you can soft-lock yourself and screw up early on in 0.2.7. After the first night of sleeping at the goblin, you apparently have to ask the goblin again the next day to use the room. I didn't know that, so I did a full days activities and returned to the goblin house, and... it says to talk to the goblin to use the bed... except the goblin is asleep and I can't talk to them. And, to rent a room at the inn, requires 50 coins for 7 days, and I only had 6 coins (spent some to open the watermill). So it is now nighttime, I have nowhere to sleep, and I cannot pass the time, so I'm stuck.
I never encountered this before in the build I tried last, so it was added in recently. In the previous build, you only needed to talk to the goblin once and then you could use the bed forever. Suffice to say, I can't progress now, so going to stop playing. Especially as the stuff I reported in this thread didn't get addressed. Like the constantly clicking, and inability to say select a destination and instantly travel there.
When 0.2.8 comes out, I'll try it out, and then I'll give the game a review here, based on what is currently offered and mechanics at that time.
Hey. Thanks for the feedback. People tend to forget that I have a full-time job and other life obligations, thus I can't implement everything they want and some more in the next update, but let me clarify a few things about your feedback.GameBear ; After playing it some more, some feedback:
1. I feel there is too much clicking involved. If we had shortcut keys of say F1 to F8, and each of them took you automatically to the inside of that location, it would help a lot. Perhaps have it only work when in town or a town building. But, in order to use the shortcut key, you need to visit the interior at least once. That way, you can't enter the Windmill with the shortcut, if you haven't unlocked it yet.
2. When inside an interior, and you've done that work type before, have a key, like "J" that automatically performs that work, provided it is the correct time of day. That way you don't have to click the NPC, select work, then try to click on the work icon in the world and likely miss the first couple of times. More streamlined content is good, when it is tedious repetitive clicking like this.
3. If you start with rags equipped, visually show us wearing rags. Perhaps give us a bonus to corruption while wearing rags, and a sale price reduction while wearing the clothes from James, so that he feels happy that you are wearing his gift.
4. If you get the rusty sword from Borus, it doesn't count as a sword for progress towards him training you.
5. The undead don't react at all, and without health bars, it is hard to tell if I'm even damaging them.
6. You cannot dodge roll, unless the sword is unsheathed.
7. Would be nice to acquire corruption in other ways than just Gort. So if you say had sex with the Bridge Troll or the Windmill Ghoul, then you would gain it from them as well.
Probably more things, but I can't remember. I'm a bit tired at the moment.
Yep, these are basically the reasons why the gameplay is being changed. You see, I'm a technical guy and I love solving technical problems. That's why at some point I kinda forgot about the purpose of an adult game and started adding complex technical features (fluent combo animations, conditional triggers, etc. ). It was such a relief after the routine coding at my main job. After a while, I came to my senses, played the game like a player would play, and made a decision to simplify almost all gameplay features. No spoilers about these changes, but my main goal is to turn the game from an "action RPG" type of game into a "use only one hand to play RPG" type of game. No, I get it. I've been developing my own non-pornographic game for 4 years now (in Feb 17th). Right now, people for my game are complaining about the tutorial, the UI, and the endgame victory condition. Each of them are super complicated to work on, and yet people want me to work on all of them at once, and I've been feeling burnt out and overwhelmed, and as you might guess, not getting very far with most things. So, I sympathize, to a point.
The problem is that by going for a full 3d polygonal game, with a real-time controller, it doesn't add to the experience and rather detracts from it. The character model isn't very good but the sex scenes, it is stellar good. There isn't any value to the real-time nature as time doesn't pass by just wandering around. Now if you went for a 3rd person exploration game with a higher polygon and higher texture size, it could work well. Being able to zoom into the character and look at her closely and her facial animations.
Adding combat to the game also detracts from the experience. Remember, in the first cutscene this isn't about plundering dungeons and slaying dragons, so why would an attractive female be even interested in this line of work. You can suffer much worse than a chipped nail, fighting monsters after all, and the way the story portrays the character, she isn't one of those adventuring types that want to leave town and risk their life for someone else. Or gain fame and riches by defeating the things that go bump in the night. She seems more the type to give Borus sexual relief, than to want to learn how to fight and potentially die horribly in some dark cave and with no one to come to save them.
Hey! The public version will be available next weekend.Hey GB just here to say super excited for LV 2.8. Any update on public? Saw it was released for Bronze a couple weeks ago.
Q & EJust stumbled onto this game. Looks great so far!
One question...how or can you swing the camera around? I want to swing it around to face the door I am going in, but can't seem to figure out how to do it. Or is it a static camera setup?
Thanks!
