So, what- if you date any of them, you lock yourself out of all the possible h-scenes?
Let me be blunt, this is a patreon for a copyrighted novel series- when I clicked on this on a porn game site, I didn't click on it thinking 'Oh, I'd love a third party rendition of a tale that is done much better by the first party owners of said series already, with barely any differences!' - what I thought was instead more along the lines of fuck canon, this is just a porn game where you can fuck all the gals without any annoyance, collect all the scenes in one playthrough without issues!
Or- 'Is it wrong to fuck girls in the dungeon?' Rather than 'Is it wrong to pick up girls in the Dungeon.' If you're doing a parody and getting... 'supported' for it, at least try putting in effort of deviating from the source material and not locking in pure vanilla monogamous relationships in a fantasy middle-aged era chock-full of gods and goddesses known to be so horny they fuck even animals straight out, the most notorious being the fucking grandfather figure of Bell.

Yeah the parts that deviate from canon are when Winterfire's writing gets to shine. Likely would have gotten less flack if they didn't follow the novel so diligently and used it more as rough guidelines like when they allow you to choose the girl at the start in Overlord H. It's more clean then slowly going down the common route knowing you can only branch off once.

this is just a porn game where you can fuck all the gals without any annoyance, collect all the scenes in one playthrough without issues!
It really doesn't matter how many people whine about this as it's rather late to include a true harem route and the individual waifu pursuit is the selling point in this game. As a booby prize maybe someone will share a gallery save or get the brothel harem.

The fans that support are looking for pure vanilla monogamous relationships and probably body pillows. At least Winterfire knows their target audience even if appealing to would boost their numbers by quite a bit...

Too bad the divine weren't real else we would have monster girls since their children will fuck anything. Combat would be more exciting if the goblins had tits. Yet this is watered down Japanese Moefied Greek lore and not true ancient Greek pornographic graffiti levels of smut.

A lovely riposte of reasonings to my arguments. Counterpoint. They're not arguments, they're my opinion, and hence infallible- this is making money off of trace drawing the anime into 3dcg and writing down what's written in the light novel plus some light dashing of 'original content'. Also, I *am* looking for just smut, and hence don't give a shit what the patrons want, so this thus is bad. Into the trash bin of 'not a worth the effort h game' it goes. Wasted 2 hours playing it and re-reading like the first 3 episodes of the anime version of the series in much inferior format- would bet money that chapter 1 and 2 were like, revisions 1,2,3,4,5 that patrons subbed for months to- amazing.

If you want to see two characters mindlessly having sex without context, you are free to download koikatu, place the characters there and play the animation.
This game was never advertised as a trainer game, let alone a harem game since it lacks the tag.

trace drawing the anime into 3dcg
There's no drawing involved, it's all made through Koikatu, hence my previous response.

Not quite right.

In the beginning, you can pick a different response than canon's, which alters how the story goes and the routes you can unlock.
In the original series there are no routes which is actually a substantial part of the game, some characters interact earlier with the MC (Such as Airmid and Artemis which exists only in the movie), and even in the first chapters you can pick some minor response which alter the storyline slightly.

Aside from the routes and the minor changes given by picking different choices, the story is not 100% canon.
While I try to keep this game as much lore friendly as possible, and the majority of parts are very recognizable from the canon material, by the end of Season 1/LN 4 the story will take a drastic turn to give more focus on the hero part.
This is actually done to make Artemis part of the main cast, but this will also affect the rest of the story such as deciding to drag away Haruhime and save her (For better or worse), and facing Aisha.
Victory versus Aisha is not a given however, that depends on whether you have maxed Bell's stats on each given level: Each adventurer has their own stats, but their maximum is 999 whereas Bell has the potential to reach 1500 every level, which means with some grinding he has a chance.
"Impressing" Aisha will also grant you a special reward, especially if you have done all the requirements prior to that encounter.

Last but not least, even Bell is not 1:1 with the source material, that's not only to make routes possible, but also to give the player access to things such as the Brothel, while trying to write a beleviable way of how he would end up there, and how he would react in some situations he cannot conveniently escape from.

Games that follow the lore closely are not new, they have been done in the past... Harry potter for GBC and Legacy of Goku for GBA to name a few... If anything, this is more like a fan fiction with visuals.

I am going easy with the branching because this game is not a pure Visual Novel, rather than doing too much branching, I prefer to do a distinct branching once at the beginning of the game, then offer multiple POVs depending on the route you pick.
Even if you are a hardcore completitionist, you won't have to play the game more than 3 times to fully complete it.

The average player might be interested only in a few heroines, and the main ones (Hestia, Liliruca, Eina, and so on) can be fully played through the Visual Novel Mode which has all the features you'd expect (rollback, saves at any point, skip, ...)

It really doesn't matter how many people whine about this as it's rather late to include a true harem route and the individual waifu pursuit is the selling point in this game. As a booby prize maybe someone will share a gallery save or get the brothel harem.
It is not really late, it is just one of the very few things where I will have to say no.
I have a very clear vision for this game, and those suggestions go totally against it. It is barely better than asking me to add NTR.

It is even worse because the people suggesting harem truly expect that it would make the game completable in a single playthrough, when it would just be an extra option like Overlord H.
The closest thing to a harem completable in a single playthrough I'll ever make is my next project, but that's only because it will be a kinetic novel.

The fans that support are looking for pure vanilla monogamous relationships and probably body pillows. At least Winterfire knows their target audience even if appealing to would boost their numbers by quite a bit...
If anything, the audience (at least the loudest one! :p) seems to point in favor for harem.
It does not matter though, as my main objective is to stick as closely as possible to the source material.

I like to believe that even those that would prefer a harem will be happy at the end, just not those who expect to somehow complete the whole game in a single playthrough, this is impossible.
It will be possible only in my future project, and even there I bet people will complain about something, it's a curse! :p

There are some monster girls, actually.
In fact, in the source material a few even go to waste, needless to say, that'll be one of the things I plan to change.

I didn't read all 35 pages, so I might have missed this. I just started playing this today and only see one Liliruca scene in the gallery. Is this on purpose or will there be more of her?

Thanks!

That one must be SFW.
Her romance evolves (as in gets NSFW scenes) only on R15, and plain full sex will happen on R16 on.

Almost 1 year anniversary of this game but I suppose it's never too late for a harem. Netori so all the girls are included. Welf can be left out in the cold which is the sad fate of most male sidekicks

I love NTR in my games, but more than that, I love authors that stick to their vision of the game they're making.
I'll be straight to the point and ask a question here, is the combat good, balanced and the exploration fun ?

is the combat good, balanced?
I like the combat system, but I am a little biased since I coded it myself.
From the screenshot in the thread you can see how it looks like: https://f95zone.to/threads/legacy-of-hestia-r13-winterfire.88059/#lg=post-6155691&slide=5

It is a standard turn based system with turns at the top, enemy tokens at the center, and player related stuff (Party and actions) at the bottom.
I did get some feedback from people not liking it because games with similar systems have a quick way to perform an action (just spam z on RPGM to quickly attack an enemy), whereas in mine you need to actually click the enemy to perform an attack, or click another action (Spell/items), however mine has the advantage of not having those things behind a menu.

Up until recently (R15) I have fixed bugs related to the combat system, and a new one has been reported a few days ago.
I still have some planned features such as an auto combat key, concurrent chanting, enemy spells, and so on.
At this point in time, I do not feel it would be fair to call it "Good". It does its job for now.

As for balance, it depends on what you mean... Like in the source material, getting through the dungeon at the beginning is quite hard, but once you get OP stuff, it'll become more of a breeze. Some challenge is kept if you pick hard difficulty, but through testing and players' feedback, I believe the combat is balanced.

and the exploration fun ?
The dungeon floors are small and manually put together with some easter eggs here and there, and most importantly they are diverse by following the lore.
However, much like the combat system, I believe it is too early to call it "Fun" as a lot of planned puzzles and events have not been added yet.

On R14 I have added a few puzzles and events which already fill some empty spots in the dungeon and give the player something to do other than quests / side quests, but that is still a small drop when compared to the list of planned events I'd like to add.

However, none of those elements are mandatory if you do not like them at their current state, the game allows you to pick "Story Mode" at the beginning of the game which allows you to play a pure Visual Novel.

Menu > Attack > Select Target > Killing Spree
Pretty sure that old formula is in a ton of games because it works, especially with game controllers :p

Sure it's "Good" even if it is keyboard and mouse focused. Kinda like how the first Dragon Warrior was good.

This is a hard one as hearing about the hero's journey and actually playing through it in a fun way isn't the same thing. There is a reason the grueling training regimen is portrayed as a montage  Taking on swarms of enemies makes the hero sound cooler but in practice tends to aggravate players when they have to trudge through it. Now there are difficulty curves so it's getting better ;)

However, much like the combat system, I believe it is too early to call it "Fun" as a lot of planned puzzles and events have not been added yet.
It's "Okay", the terrain is pretty and areas with plants have some life to them. Without equipment the only rewards from chest are money and support items. Given the nature of this game having more sexy surprises would make exploration more "Fun" though you did say hot springs are going to be a thing :sneaky:

On R14 I have added a few puzzles and events which already fill some empty spots in the dungeon and give the player something to do other than quests / side quests, but that is still a small drop when compared to the list of planned events I'd like to add.
Yay more things to do :D

Depends on how many exclusives you add to the dungeon. Brothel girls and harems :coffee:

Is it possible to change default mode of attack from slashing to magic? Because while grinding magic stat it's getting a bit annoying having to constanty click on a Firebolt icon and then on a monster each turn.
