My best guess is that your GPU is running out of memory, the game is tested with a 1660 6gb, which I would consider the recommended/minimum requirements to run the game. The story mode should run fine, but I don't see the game getting too far with that GPU, you could try setting the graphics on low and decrease the resolution.
