You need to find several parts of them. After that go to a clothing shop and talk with the woman there. She will inform you if you have enough for a new outfit.

How far in the story are you?
Normally it should be possible after destroying the second Spire, getting caught and then escaping Blackguard Stronghold.

Did you upgrade the garden too, not just unlocked?

I used the RPG Maker Save Editor to roll back the story and it set Farah down below to the bedroom properly which then enabled my character to proceed by walking through the doorway to talk to him. The save editor was linked above at comment # 9,325

Game clocks to 33 hours of total runtime for me, and that's before New Game+.

My first and only complete playthrough took about 50 hours (3.05). But I've done a lot of secondary stuff (except grinding mobs and boring shit like that). Cards, scenes, altars, quests, tavern wench challenge, castle upgrades. Tons of unskippable time-wasting animations don't help.

New game+ is a complete waste of time, in my opinion.
