The issue isn't vanilla vs hardcore IMO, it's that the way the game is structured it presents itself like it's tangentially vanilla (Like having a Male MC who gets affection level increases/decreases with the female characters or the ability to call the girls up to your room) but then the only time the MC gets action that isn't just the RPGmaker sprite sex laziness it feels like it's a "Oh well, FINE I guess you can get a scene now back to what I actually care about" situation. This creates this weird dissonance where the game is wearing the skin of a harem game and acts like you're supposed to have a harem, but nothing harem-like ever happens. Or for girls like Laquadia you can impact her affection, but no matter what it's seemingly going to end with her hating your guts so what's the point (Or to use LOQO II as an example, the affection levels for the non-royals was just you getting sent art of them fucking other shit in the mail which is just a hilarious missing of the point or actively spiteful choice).
Usually Gabe ends these games with the Golden Edition content that has stuff like deus ex marriage/sex slave at the last second for whatever main girl you want and I'm guessing this will be the same way but it's still always so half-assed (Usually reused CGs or no CG at all) so again it feels like a "Oh this is just done out of obligation rather than any actual desire to provide this type of content).
It'd be so much better to just commit to one side or the other
