I think the thing is that this type of man is, for various reasons, uncomfortable with the concept of lesbians. I have talked here before about the "I can turn you" crowd and how they are driven by pride and the horrifying idea that there are women out there who, even in a dream scenario, would never be with them. But the other crowd you are talking about here, I suspect, is more so driven by actual fear.
