What's the point of reading the VN if you are not actually going to read?
I think that was the point Selebus was trying to get across when he added the puzzles since he admitted the puzzles are a response to complaints that were connected to people not reading. I mean, it's called a visual NOVEL for a reason.

90% of the people playing the game before this update - "Eyy Selebus mate, writing is good but the game gets a bit uncomfortable at some points, why not make the Sensei less of a sociopath?"

Selebus - "Hold my fucking beer" (lmao)

Seriously though

For better or worse, the Dev's timing could not be any better. Release probably the most divisive update and go for a month of vacation lmao.
Not going to lie, that wasn't what brought me here when it first came to F95. I use the "latest updates" page to monitor what is coming out and getting updated when and I just happened to see it on the front page on day one of its presence here. It was only after that and a few updates in, 0.8.0, that attracted me to the writing. I wouldn't say it hadn't taken off yet before 0.8.0, it took off from day one, I just have very high standards for what I will track the progress of and exponentially higher standards than that for what I will financially support. This hit both standards as of 0.8.0 and then surpassed them very quickly, leading to me becoming a patron and recently tripling my tier.

This uncomfortable feeling is something I am not used to, not even Doki Doki Literature Club succeeded in making me feel this way and both that and this are in the same genre and have the same goal, to make you uncomfortable and frighten you. This is the first of only two games that bested my 'it's only a game' logic, which I use to protect myself from such things so that I may look at the game objectively as just that, a game. It makes me VERY uncomfortable when Sensei does things to the point where I seriously want to punch him at times, especially that one Miku incident, and it frightens me to know something bad will be happening and probably soon judging by the last few updates.

I would suggest not trusting the notion that Selebus won't go much further, we haven't even seen the really dark part yet that Denpa games are known for. The notion that he has a limit will only exacerbate the discomfort by making you drop your guard right before he releases something even more uncomfortable than the last. The path of Denpa is a difficult one to walk, but so worth it because the writing in Denpa games is usually freaking amazing, this one in particular being above average in my experience with the average being pretty high.

Next update is in a two weeks, lol.

By the way, IMO maybe the best update between last few. Binged through it in one evening and I don't know what's so divisive about it.
Definitely the best update, this game just won't stop getting better. I mean that's a possibility, it just hasn't.

I think the divisiveness is coming from people who don't like the Denpa genre, don't like the focus on the story instead of the sex, don't like the puzzles, don't like how things are laid out as far as prerequisites for events, don't like that this game actually punishes you for doing the wrong thing, or don't like that there are elements that require audio. So far, those are the only things I have seen negatively discussed. Especially the horror elements being a required thing since this is a Denpa game and those are important story elements.

What is the point of only experiencing things in your comfort zone?
Another valid point, staying in one's comfort zone leads to a limited experience.

Anyone know how to trigger Ami's last "conscious or Not" event; Niki's last "Hotel Rooms" event; and any of the new Main line quests starting with "Girls in Spandex"?

e: Niki triggered by calling her on Saturday night
e: which allows for Main line to start on Friday, which includes Ami's event

Molly... mentions "last year" referring to the Halloween party not even missing a beat and pausing to realize... she shouldn't have had a "last year" yet
Yep, there is definitely something going on and I am getting a very bad feeling we'll be finding out soon.

Indeed, but unpleasantness is part of what we get with a character like Sensei.

Make copy ChinamiEvents.rpy, just in case, after open it and cntr+f "128" and change "day 128" to "day128" then save.

There was a line in Sensei's monologue where he mentions that he had feelings for someone, how the girl used to wear shorter clothes every time and seduced him with her patient soft touches. This is Ami's mother, right?

After reading how bad people feel after this update, I'm kind of glad I'm having trouble getting this update to get started and may have to put it aside for a while. Going through some bad shit in RL right now. Don't need any more dark at the moment. If it's bad on the Molly path as I'm getting the feel for, it may be a game ender for me. :(
Too much bad has happened to too many characters I care about. Not sure I want to see more, which would suck because I love this game overall. Time will tell.

Things are going to get bad for everyone, I suspect.

This Halloween is the most awful update in the game.

You would think, that violating dream Maya in the broken world would get to you, maybe making an emotional scar on Yumi would make you feel like the worst human in the world, or depressed Makoto, or Sensei getting caught with Miku by Makoto, but you've got it all wrong.
Selebus will fucking make you violate the fragile nerd, who was always on his side, and currently suffering from loneliness and brokent heart. I CLICKED "Don't do sex" lilke 5 times with intervals like a minute, and, after clicking the worse option, I was hoping that Sensei would snap out of it. But alas, the whole scene makes me want to vomit, that was awful. All things considered, we know that protagonist isn't the great guy, but this...
This made me think to drop this game, as much I appreciate "going insane" part of Sensei, this was waaaay off my comfort zone.
This is the exact reaction I wanted.

There’s actually another update in two weeks before I take my break (Which is two weeks long, not a month).

Aye my bad, I was referring to the Dec update, I thought it was going to be one update in Nov and 2 in Dec. Keep up the good work, I needed some existential crisis in my life :D

I wouldn’t say that. There are just many people out there who, like me, need to see and experience just how horrible things can be in order to understand how wonderful life is.
Growing up in russia, living some in china (just a bit) and a bit in germany and then having a pleasure to observe everyday hot-takes on western twitter and in the corporate media, I'd say it's not "many people", it's virtually all of us at almost every point in life.
