Well who could guess that there are really Japanese reading LiL lol. Despite being fully American novel and writing style, I could argue some thinking and ideas in LiL is quite oriental thus it didn't come that much of a surprise. Though rather than Subahibi with which each Denpa visual novel seems inevitably have to compare. Some of the ramblings and reminds me of Kyojin-tachi which experiences more on language and subjectivity of fictional characters and authenticity of game or any medium themselves while ruthlessly unveiling intrusion of author to every visible pore of the game.

I would call LiL as the greatest post-modernism American novel had it not been such a conceitful and self-righteous author. Let's not concern my congenial prejudice on English novels and favor on classical Russian ones here first.
Imagine the alternate reality where Selebus had the temperament of Gogol, eh...?

One of the many phases I went through playing this game.
Found the game on itch and the first thing I did was skip through all the text to get to the first h-scene ofc :‎D and damnn, was it a lot of text. Wasnt even sure I would be able to read it.

I got around to reading from the beginning and the things I remember the most from that time are how weird Senseis model looked and I found the "happy scenes" with all the flashing pretentious, cringe and nothing burgers.

After that I got hooked on the plot of the whole world resetting and all that, so I greatly preferred Maya events, since her events moved the plot the most. I felt like the plot was absolute drip-feed with how slow it was moving. But slowly I realized that even the "slice of life" events were very entertaining and the character writing was absolute fire, so I got to liking pretty much anything the game offered.

I would guess that around chapter 2 I realized that this was game absolute cinema and that I wont be able to ever find something similar to this. Got myself completely swallowed by the story and characters.

Then I guess the final stage would be when I started to like every character around the end of chapter 3. Till that point I still had some that I found at least boring (Tsuneyo).
The only phase I had was my sardonic enjoyment transitioning to sincere enjoyment over the first chapter once I realized it was purposefully good rather than accidentally good. I never really "like" or "dislike" characters so much as evaluate their depth and execution. The idea of disliking a character is beyond me; if I find myself displeased by their scenes, I will first attribute it to a failure of the author for failing to depict them correctly, though that of course is purely a psychological construction of my own making. E.g. for Eternum it's not like I dislike Dalia or Annie, I just feel like they were written shallowly, for example. So from the start I 'liked' all characters in LiL and continue to like them all, although Kaori's particular way of speaking gives me a headache.

Uh ok, I need actual real help making a decision because I'm scared of it.

Relatively inconsequential so far, you miss a weird event where she walks home.
I say it's inconsequential as she is affected the same regardless, you just don't see it. Made me very confused later on when a character referenced the contents of the missable event and I was like "?????? The fuck are you on about?" only to play my bad sensei later and be like "ooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh".

All current future events treat it as though you touch her.
Im sure this will never change :)
Off the cuff, I would imagine it's a false-memory sort of thing, the player's input tends to be minimal and ignored while True History plays out regardless. We can imagine a sort of "In this moment, Sensei was too weak-willed to face the honest truth of what he did, so he blacked it out." We of course can conceptualize the ren'py choices as being representations of the player speaking/influencing the world.

But mainly I thought it was funny to describe famed, critically acclaimed event Ad Infinitum (TM) as 'a weird walk home.' That's pretty funny. No shade of course, it's a completely true description.

Pretty much the way I see it too for the most part, there's definitely instances where this doesn't track, such as refusing IO.
But stuff like this Sana event, or banging Ami before a certain reset are set in stone regardless of choice.

I just now discover Haruka's morning animated doggystyle at the cafe? I wonder how many more scenes I've unlocked that I haven't seen yet... probably not many.
Some people who you only meet in a certain spot have grindable lewd scenes there. One coming later that is annoying for sandbox players when you forget is Kirin in the afternoon (Through the phone too). I needed to grind 5 lust out of her in that menu to get some dialogue I wanted and had to rollback an hour of game when I realised my mistake.

Ya know (generic somepersonoutofnowhere intro text, "Ya know/Man") I had a thought, if I ever had a child, after grown up, and I come into their room, have a chat, tell him to search some stuff up on google that I want to show him, and just see LiL's symbol on the taskbar, how I'd troll them, because if I catch my child playing a porn that I played before I AM ABSOLUTELY EMBARRASING THEM. Assuming they're hiding their habits. What would you guys do?

Oh and also Merry Christmas from a place that doesn't have any type of those holidays, they seem amusing, hope to eventually move somewhere that has that.

LiL specifically, I'd drop some out of context dialogue. Like beginning of chapter 1 I'd mention spaghetti. Or wait for them to just start the sandbox for Chapter 2 and then drop "You're disgusting" at some point.

And never ever expand or confirm I know about the game.
