Sadly, using "they" as a generic singular pronoun in English goes back at least five hundred years.

Yes, I really prefer my language, I'm glad I found a site where they are sending the translation of lessons in love in my native language. The bad thing is that there is a 15 to 20 day difference between the release date here.

Keep in mind that one of her early events has her trying to protect the girls from Sensei. Then later feeling uncomfortable and wishing Sensei would have came back so that she could apologize for making him uncomfortable. Nodoka really does seem to be the overly protective awkward type. She also seems to take responsibility for things involving her friends, whether she should or not. Albeit, I'd add that she's perfectly willing to be a "bad girl" to do it (as shown with Yumi). She's someone who will play the bad guy with little regrets, and she'd probably consider the consequences worth it.

If I want Alexisthymia, I have to wait to start Amy until I've finished all the main stuff that's out right? Up to 0.45 or 0.46?

There is an entire translation team working on LiL?! With only a 20 day difference? That's huge given the amount of words on the game (if it's not just mtl).
Yes, on the Lapkjogos website, they translate several games into Portuguese (Br). I recently discovered this and loved it, they are already in the current updates so every time an update arrives 15 to 20 days later they release the Portuguese version.(No, I wasn't paid to do this "advertisement", I'm just sharing this fact.)

I wrote a small mod that lets you skip the affection/lust point grind without having to go through the tedium of typing in cheat codes or having your save labelled with the cheater flag.

View attachment 1901303

Features:
  • Sets all girls' affection and lust points to a value X unless they were already higher than X
  • Can set a specific girl's love/lust points
  • Written to be future-proof (i.e. will automatically work for any new girls, you will never need to update the mod)
  • Enables the developer console
Usage Instructions:
  • Download the attached file
    • Note: if you get sent to a new tab with a bunch of text, just right click and hit "Save as" and name it as z_set_love_lust.rpy
  • Move into the folder named "game" (found inside the folder that you launch Lessons in Love from)
  • Load a save and open the developer console with Shift + O
  • Press Enter a few times until you can see the ">" symbol in the top left of the screen
  • To update all girls' love and lust: type setLoveAndLust(X) and press Enter(for an example, see the image below)
    • Note: X must be an integer (aka whole number)
  • To update a specific girl's love or lust, for example Ami: type "ami_love += X" and/or "ami_lust += X" without the quotation marks and then press Enter.
    • Note: the girl's name must be fully lower-case.
    • This will increase their love/lust by X. If you want to make it equal to X then omit the plus sign
  • Press Esc to close the console and now you can play!

Bonus stuff (not essential to read):

I recommend using this with the guide mod for max efficiency because other than grinding points, the main time-sink with this game is trying to trigger events.

If you want a version of the mod that lets you set affection and lust points separately (useful if you don't want to see any lust events), see here: https://f95zone.to/threads/lessons-in-love-v0-30-0-selebus.48158/post-10770605

Advice from alex2011 on how to use the mod so that you don't accidentally miss events (note: I used the mod myself with 50 affection from the start and didn't experience any issues. You can still miss events even if you follow the instructions below and you can still see all events while ignoring those instructions.):

Uninstall: delete the files z_set_love_lust.rpy and z_set_love_lust.rpyc from your game subfolder

I also made a mod that lets you scroll your mouse-wheel to simulate clicks (i.e. scrolling forward a bit makes the dialogue move forward by one mouse click), makes the game more convenient to play https://f95zone.to/threads/use-scroll-wheel-to-simulate-mouse-clicks.120507/#post-8406783
There was a developer page that developed this software, unfortunately I could not find it, if anyone knows, can you send me a link?

For future reference, please include my username in your post. I search using ctrl+f/g to find who have replied to me. I would have missed it if it weren't for the fact I was looking specifically for that post I was referring to with the spoiler thing. Now that I think about it, maybe I could have guessed who. Considering that Molly mother is dead, no one else works at that cafe and Rin is the only one who has mothers living in the area. Well now it makes sense.
Again, put "voidexile" somewhere. Like "compressing voidexile posting"

Re: they/them: iirc, most of the Germanic/Scandinavian languages have a neutral pronoun—and I believe VoidExile ’s native language is one of those (though his—his?—English is obviously excellent). And French has always had “on” (basically the same as the pronoun “one” in English).

But in none of those cases does one of the singular pronoun do double duty as a plural.

English is special. :)

We didn't have a «genderless» pronoun in french, but, if we want to use one we already have, it should be «ça», not «on».
As the common use of «on» is much more like a «we/us».
For example, with an easy sentence :
«On est fatigué.»
«We are tired.»

And yes, I usually speak french. And I'm terrible in english... well, not that terrible, but I write in english the same way I write in french, with a lot of comma and, of course, with a disturbing way of phrasing.
So, my apologies if you had, or have, some difficulties with my writing. :giggle:
