Seriously? I am amazed. Clearly LiL is content-rich, and lengthy, but I had no idea that it has surpassed 780,000 words.

Yeah the last official update from Sel was 700k and that was in May, there have been 3 more substantial updates since then. There is apparently a Smash Brothers fanfic that is over 4 million words and he's said he expects LiL to pass that in 4-5 years.

I can't speak for her aviding hating sensei since I don't like to do mental gymnastics levels of assumptions, but for futaba the one who can hardly afford to eat is picking on the one who eats too much for a reason.

I would agree with you... but I just read a part of the story where yumi seems to be interested in maya saying that she may be able to be friends with her but she doesn't fully understand her. And maya eats 5lbs of curry in that same scene. So Idk xD

While there may be some of wanting to "toughen up" Futaba in her motivation, or at the very least it might be how she's justifying it to herself, I don't think it's a matter of pure intentions and horrible execution. As mentioned, she had to survive among the Yakuza. She probably learned early that centring out someone else is a good way to avoid being targeted yourself. It's probably at least partially a survival tactic on her part. Furthermore, Futaba's got both parents, and while they're overseas, they still regularly send her money, and she obviously has a loving relationship with them. There might also be some jealousy thrown into the mix.

I don't think Yumi is a bad person at heart. I think she's broken, like pretty much everyone in the story (still waiting to see how some of the people are broken). I like her, when looked at on the whole, as a character for the VN, and look forward to seeing more of her. However, I think there's more to her bullying than simply trying to toughen Futaba up.

We don't really know what happened in the previous detentions. It's possible previous Senseis were as bad or worse than this one, and they could've been unjustified detentions, and were excuses to abuse her. It's equally possible that they were justified and the other Sensei was kind and dedicated to helping her. Everything anyone says about them at this point, beyond the fact that they happened, and Yumi didn't like them (and really, who likes detention?), is pure speculation.

Minor correction: We do know from Maya that nearly every version of Sensei has fooled around with one or more girls, though we're never given much information on what happened or with whom.

I've just finished the first beach vacation, so I haven't yet seen the later material. The idea that there have been others residing in the Sensei body does make sense. Maya has seen many many more cycles than the current resident. I can imagine with all the Happy Times, many residents are broken and destroyed by this experience.

When Maya says, "You've changed," it come be an aspect of "You're different," but as his monologue shows, he's not 100% corrupting. He is caring for the girls. Perhaps this is what will allow him to survive the cycles, which might actually free both he and Maya from the wheel.

Futaba is cute. My only issue with her, is that her personality is rather bland, compared to practically all the other girls, but I like her. And her appearance is fine. Not every girl has to look like flavorbeam over there.

I expect once she lets go of her self-image problems, she will become quite passionate--probably leaving Ayane far behind.

Variety is the spice of life, right?

As far as skipping characters, come on people. Selebus has a detailed story for everyone he wants to tell, don't you want to see it? Even if a character isn't your favorite, see what lies in store for her. When you read a book, do you flip past 20 or so pages every time a character you don't like shows up on the story?

If you really can't stand a particular character, which seems strange to me, because I like them all in their own way, use the control key.

I can't help but wait to see what Selebus has planned for all the characters.

That reminds me. I came across the mention of "Stations of the Cross" in the happy scene, and was taken aback. Maya's definitely definitely doesn't match what I was taught in the Roman Catholic Church. Rather than being a symbol for the Holy Trinity, it was about 14 key events on the day of the Crucifixion. Of course, that's what it means in OUR world....

But the fact that Yumi is fighting back tears in the last scene she appears in tells me that there's history there beyond what we've seen. She is acting like someone with a history of being sexual abused, and her outbursts remind me very strongly of people I know who've been abused trying to cope with the fact that they have to see their abuser on the regular.

A young/girl woman living on the streets would likely be subject to a lot of sexual abuse and emotional pain. But yeah, I was abused by an uncle when I was 6-7 years old, and it affected me in a lot of ways growing up.

Man i love this game.
Can't believe i just stumble this gem not long ago.

For me, this one had been recommended and I'd had it in my "to be played" queue. Finally opened it up about 5 days ago and haven't played any others in that time.

Each of them have their own behavior/personality and so, which really attracts me grinding this game while takes time to read the dialogue rather than skip all as what i would love to do.

Plus, i love the reference and the stuff appear in the game(EG : like posters of Rin's Room (Clanned and other good stuff), A huge cock with Kaori which i think he get inspiration from Yakuza? (that's what i think of instantly) and more!

True, religious education in America is absolute garbage and most people are "atheists" simply because they literally don't know that religions aside from Christianity, and possibly muslim exist, and they base everything off of that single religion.

Theological school classes could be nice if they weren't overly biased towards one belief since theology is a big part of life.

I mainly walked away from the Catholic Church because the canonical place for women and LGBTQ+ was no longer in line with my own progressive values. I did look into Buddhism and Wicca, but essentially I'm still a bit of a light atheist because any theology I hold must be compatible with my understanding of the physical world. I guess I have one foot in science, another in mysticism/esoterica, owning that the latter is largely subjective.

Personally I think what the current Sensei has done with her is enough for her to be acting the way she does - and the most recent scene, her emotional outburst to me seems to be entirely about her relationship with her mother.

I agree, honestly it wasn't a critisism really but more like a hope for the future of the game. It does make perfect sense for the game to be like it is for now (and even if it stayed like this it still be great, I just like kinkier stuff myself )

That does remind me of the reaction when Killer7 said that he does not consider the youngest daughter in My New Memories "lewdable." After the outrage, he acknowledged that at this point in her story, it did not make sense, but that things could change as her story progresses.

The common experience here is that when people ask for something, they usually are doing Veruca Salt cosplay (I want it now!). Didn't mean to be jumping to conclusions with your post.

Well, after 10 days of play, I finally have my first blocked scene, Love Life, Let Go. It's because I didn't do the second happy scene by leaving the dorms and progressed too far with the girls before I finally realized I needed to do that. Now I want to go back and repeat all these days.... Of course, now that I know what I'm doing, it it won't be 534 days to get back to where I am.

EDIT: Actually, I'm going back to the 7th of August (Day 128), when the decision point had not been passed. Affection is no longer 40-60, but oh well. All my other games will have to wait a week longer.

Why not treat him as another character in a game? That's how I do it, that's what it seems to be the case plot vice. He's a literal vehicle for...something, someone.

The way she treats Futaba is awful, but it's done with the intent of thickening Futaba's skin. She percieves Futaba as being to weak to survive in the world without growing some toughness, and since everyone else seems content to coddle Futaba, Yumi's volunteering to be the (unasked for) catalyst. That makes it sound a little more benevolent than it actually is, but you do see over the course of the arc that she pities Futaba, rather than hates her.

I love Yumi, but what I don't love is justification of ehr behaviour as "tough love". It really isn't. Yumi lashing out against everyone, but Futaba make herself an easy target, so she gets the worst of it.
She's easy target because, while her weight isn't a problem in itself, it's an easy vector of attack for Yumi, jokes kinda write themselves. It's als easy to see an immediate effect Yumi's words have on Future. Yumi hits, Futaba immediately bleeds. Easy pray.
For Yumi live is a fight and she's in a losing position by default, so she resents Futaba for not standing up to her, for rolling with punches. Even worse: Futaba's half-hearted attempts at being a bigger person just make her a bigger target, no pun intended.
