Ami's Everlasting Love was not as shocking, but a bit similar with the happy ending. I need to take a look at all the final scenes above the dotted line. No, Bluejay is worse. I'm still in shock.
When I first played it I just kinda sat there for a few minutes before saying (out loud too) "Oh, fuck." it can fuck you up if you're not expecting it.

I'm still not entirely sure if he jumped or if he was pushed. There's evidence pushing me toward a jump, but Noriko and Ami both seem like the type to take the 'if I can't have him, nobody can' approach, so I am still VERY wary of the possibility it might have been an attempted murder.
Not sure what you mean by that last line. If you mean real people taking the more dangerous aspects of the, not real, game into the real world, they were already screwed in the head and needed help of the mental variety to begin with.
No, this is a VN, not a touching simulator.
Gets us every time, that one was a major shock and may be one of the few there is no preparing for.
It can even if you are expecting it, too. This is one of only a couple scenes where I haven't had any less of a reaction to it on multiple runs through it.

I wasn't talking about any jumping during the game, I'm talking about how the game started with all the options saying "jump." Implying that all of this is a creation of his oxygen starved brain.
I mean people really thinking about the story and the characters, what's happening to them emotionally, and not just when the next H-scene will be. Another game that gets a lot of discussion like this is Light of My Life--including talk about the Biblical and general religious symbolism in the game. There are a number of games that speak to us on various levels.
Yeah, I'm doing Happy Places, still working on the after effects of Bluejay. I started head patting to break the mood, but the fact that one of the three is not available (because of Bluejay) didn't help.
I just got to the cooking contest between Amy and Ayane a few days ago and something keeps bothering me. Who the fuck eats rice with nothing? Rice is supposed to accompany some kinds of food, not left alone in a bowl. I think there’s some serious cultural misunderstanding here.
I'm not sure of that, either. This could be that or it could be some sort of effect after surviving the fall.
I see, yeah, it takes some extremely good writing to make a game on the level where it can get the players thinking. You can have the best graphics or best sound design and you still won't get that kind of response with an okay story.
Not necessarily, rice can be used in a variety of ways including as a main dish, usually, but not always with some sort of sauce.

That is a common reading of it.
The opening could refer to one of two things:
1) Literal -- a suicide attempt
2) Metaphorical -- a leap of faith
3) Referential -- There are a pair of films, the one you've most likely seen is City of Angels (the other is a German film, Wings of Desire, which City of Angels was adapting for a modern US audience) about an angel who falls in love with a human and chooses to fall from heaven and become mortal in order to be with them. I only bring this up because the game does have very strong god/angel overtones, and mentions a god who fucked everything who then died. But maybe he didn't die. Maybe he did just fall in love? This is an unlikely option, but I can't rule it out entirely just yet.

If you mean unlocking it after it is already crossed out, you can't, crossed out events are permanently locked. If you mean on a second run after getting it crossed out, there is a wiki with unlock requirements.
Oh no, I just went to an earlier save. Luckily I had one just a week before I screwed up

You need to have completed Nightvision to open Everything is Connected on the soccer field.
When you go to a sushi restaurant (in the US, at least), you'll usually receive a bowl of rice with perhaps a garnish on top. You can add soy sauce or not or just eat it as is.

I have been to many sushi restaurants in the US, and this has never been offered.
Odd as it is common practice. I usually add soy sauce to mine. I just like that flavor for some reason. Rice in the far east is a major substitute for certain other grains, though not a total replacement as you will see both rice and the supposedly replaced grain at the same time in places.

I've never been to a restaurant in Japan where plain rice was just given out. Because a) it's not meant to be eaten alone (soy sauce/ginger doesn't count), and b) they'd prefer to charge you $3-5 for it.

It does, quite a bit in fact. It is far more common in the actual countries to find rice served than at a restaurant outside them with cuisine from those countries.
I assure you not a single soul in my South East Asian country eats rice with nothing. Rice with soy sauce is something a child would choose to eat when he/she doesn't like the dishes. The closes thing to a rice main dish would be fried rice, but even that dish has its fair share of variations with different seasoning and side dishes.
Don't let the Japanese see you do that you heathen.
