VoidExile I forgot to respond to the time you mentioned trying to translate the text on Molly's hoodie.
It's a meta joke with at least 3 layers.
1) Phonetically, it reads as "Hiragana". Hiragana is the alphabet used for general Japanese when they aren't compressing whole words into unique symbols called Kanji. (Hiragana in Hiragana is ひらがな, in Kanji is 平カナ)
2) Orthographically, it's written in Katakana, which is the alphabet used mostly for words that are borrowed from other languages. Hamburger would be Hanbāgā or ハンバーガー.
3) The irony of japanese explicitly borrowing a japanese word to read it in english probably makes the weeb who wrote it really happy.
