I've been quite frustrated that the name thing went from important to just barely or not even noteworthy. I was looking forward to every reaction about learning it. I spent some time but can't really come up with anything actually to say about 0.47. A fellow reader observed that while progging the game this was the kind of update you'd blast through and be ready for more, yet now we must cruelly wait. That is pretty insightful. I almost brought it up. The same way they outright named her Ami Prime. The problem was there was a third thing I noticed too, but then I did some mass decrypting stuff and at the end forgot the third point. That entire sex scene kinda read like he was poking the fanbase a little, I wouldn't say outright mocking it.

But I also don't know if the Lilcord uses the same names there or not, or if it was a f95 specific poke.

The same can be said about characters in the game. Once they learnt his name it stopped being a secret, so they started using his name as something normal, despite the fact that his name was secretive for the rest of the game.

I thought the deal with his name was that everyone knew it but he just couldn't hear them saying it until Niki broke through to him. It's been awhile so my memory of this could be faulty, or maybe that didn't apply to all characters.

It was both. Niki has definitely said the name you chose a bunch of times because at least one scene references your name with others, and you see times where the game censored her dialogue because he wasn't ready for it.

Noriko has mentioned saying both names infrequently and is surprised 'he' never heard it.

Maya made it a point to not say his name.

Chika has been trying to find out his name for a year.

The KK asset used for Akira's bedroom is an extremely present asset in KK, sooooooooo many other AVN's use it, it's practically the default bedroom for the MC most of the time. One thing that has always bugged the ever living hell out of me though is how the the blanket is 3/4's on the floor, no one ever changes that, so is it simply unchangeable? A static asset that no one has made an edit for a mod or something?

Jokes aside, I think Niki will be fine. The greatest thing is being incapable of being a part of the problem/solution, the more she knows and is accepted by both Akira and Ami, the more she can act. She's not leaving either regardless imo, no matter what she finds out about.

And I think that's kind of what both really need. Someone that doesn't leave. And as for knowing about stuff, Niki is one step away of knowing a lot of stuff, I think. Most of it she just knows it's better not to take that step at the moment. But she's not an idiot.

If that ultimately will put her in a position to actually "fix" them, I don't know.
