The first one is the most shocking one. Most of the horror is "fridge horror" where its something that hits you way after the "chock" part is over, and you start thinking about it.
The most scary part about this game is the implications, either literal or philosophical.
Anyway, try it. After the first "happy" scene, just know nothing will be as bad as that, so keep pushing!

Thank you Selebus for the clarification.
Know myself i just be played it witnout sound at all, with low resolution, and even so i will still be scared likely
i dont like to be scared at all, 11 scenes seems like too much for me
judging by the warning
even the wiki for this game can scared
these smiles on wiki, already creepy as hell for me
and it looks like I see them often in the game (well, in 5 screenshot already i see one)
wonder what the shock the game can give, seems like the game have good story, good luck to the developer
but i just head out
monkaS.

Check on the wiki if, besides the events, you meet the criteria for days played, when it triggers, maybe you even need side characters' events to complete.
I've done all the quests for all the girls except "Baby It's Cold Outside", "Selfless", "Semblance of a Soul" and "Full Blossom" and I won't run the "There is Nothing" quest on Saturday.

I checked it while replying, the only requirements are all Chapter 1 events seen, not including missable ones that are counted as missed, and the day being Saturday.

Semblance is one of the two events added in the most recent update and isn’t required for There is Nothing. If the only missing events are the ones he listed, he’s already met the threshold. Likely missing a secret event or side character event

Side character events seem to be the most common events to hold up progress at this point in the game, so that is actually the most likely culprit with 'happy' scenes coming in second since I've seen those mentioned by players with the issue. I forgot the character events aren't listed by chapter and Makoto was one of the girls to get an update in 0.12.0, so that event is definitely not needed. I corrected my previous comments to reflect this.

I'm having some difficulty expanding the zip file onto my mac, its got plenty of space, but its pretty old these days, and I'm wondering if I just need to wait for a new computer or if I could get away with a cheap trick?

Well dang, I've been playing for a while since I first posted here and it's been a wild fucking ride. I expected it to go dark, but it's also ripe with mindfuckery in a really good way.

Pretty gud/10 Will probably play a new file where I play Sensei as a non horrendous human being.

Also, quick question, more or less how often are the updates with this game? Every few months? Twice a year? When it's done? Not pressuring or anything, I'm just thinking of keeping this in the ol backlog until later updates, or maybe a couple years down the line when I'm assume it's likely to be complete. For that matter, about how far into the actual story is this game? Like I said, I managed to get to the beginning of the Halloween event, but that's where I currently stopped, and I'd be interested in knowing about how far is Selebus has developed the story so far, or contentwise how longer the game will go on before Selebus finishes.

Game is updated about every 2 weeks, released for patrons on the 1st and 15th every month. Last update was a bit special with only 1 update that month, but that was because it was a big one that had to be released all at once. So every once in a while it will only be 1 update in a month, but that's rare.

As for how far along in the story we are, I believe last update Selebus said we were maybe 5% of the way through? So it's gonna be a while. Probably at least 2 years before it's remotely close to done. Selebus does work fast though. This game already has a higher word count than the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit combined and hasn't even been in development for a year, plus has SO FRIGGIN MANY RENDERS it's rediculous.

Like Ankoku said, updates are every two weeks and patrons are always one update ahead. Each update (Except for the most recent QOL one) contains 40k’ish words and around an hour of new content.

There is a very long way to go for this game. It’s only just scratched the surface.

My recommendation: Just keep updating it at least once every 2 months. There is so much theory crafting with the hints given each update you won' get bored. The 1st and 15ths of the month will be a special day in your inner calendar.

The writing in this game is mindblowingly good. I can honestly say that I grew to genuinely care about these characters like real people, which is no small achievement for any piece of media. This game deserves to win awards. (Also, please give this game a happy ending. I wasn't kidding I care about these guys.)
I'm sorry to tell you, especially since I too care about these characters as if they were real people, but this is a denpa game. The most famous games from the genre include DDLC and Higurashi. The prospects of a happy ending are not good.

Well, as it was said and repeated recently by Sel, there will be a variety of endings besides the "True" ending.
I bet there will be a lot of endings. Some good, plenty bittersweet, and mostly HAPPY.

Even then, it depends on what is defined as good in this case. Good could just be more positive thn the dark route for all we know. Denpa games aren't known for happiness.

Really do wonder if my sanity can hold out until the end (of this route).
Are you sure you even have it anymore? I swear I lost mine somewhere around 0.10.0. :ROFLMAO:

Though I'm pretty sure the "true" ending is gonna be an LSD nightmare, I hope that Selebus is kind enough to make the "purity" routes really happy...

I mean, this is a Denpa game, so it isn't unheard of for the most positive ending to still be negative overall. Juudging by how the 'happy' scenes are going, I bet you're right, it really will be the worst thing he throws at us, in which case I say do your worst, I can take literally anything he throws at me. I'm not so sure even the purity routes are safe, they may just be happier and single girl focused, but still be negative when compared to a non Denpa game.
