I feel like you may be projecting. If that's the impression you got from the thread, let me reiterate for the friends I can safely represent on this matter that we couldn't care less. Obviously that doesn't account for everyone here, but surely for the larger (and saner) part.
It wasn't you, but this whole tangent did get started by someone calling all Red Pathers "pussies".

Was that narration the indisputable word of Sel, or one of the many in-game characters that think growth means fully embracing the role of a predator? I'm actually quite bad at identifying narrators.

So far Green Path Akira isn't any wiser or stronger than Red Path Akira; he's actually even less capable of resisting temptation. Choosing to get closer to Chinami and Tsukasa leads to him intentionally trying to "ruin" Tsukasa while admitting that he hasn't learned anything from his mistakes.
I think ultimately the green path will lead to growth, but it's not because repeatedly making bad choices somehow makes you more capable of not making bad choices. It's because the world is run by eldritch rape gods that will prematurely end things if Akira doesn't make enough bad choices. Things have to happen in a certain order to avoid that happening.

I think it's because decisions don't really matter, though they actually do.

The only thing those decisions change is the perception of you, be it from others or from yourself, but they don't change what you are.

Hello,
I've just started the game and so far, I'm really enjoying it. The story, the characters (most of them), and the lore surrounding the world and the alien war are all very exciting to me. The writing is excellent, and I'm eager to learn more about the characters, especially the main character.
However, I do feel that the story progression is a bit slow at the beginning. I understand it's still early on, but I'm wondering if the story will become more engaging as it goes on and if there will be more dramatic moments. While I enjoy the character conversations, I’m hoping for some more dynamic and exciting events—nothing lewd, just moments that move the plot forward and bring more action to the story.
As mentioned by others, the first chapter is a slow burn. It sets up the stage, though it also has its fast-paced and plot relevant moments, but you probably won't notice the latter until you do a replay after you catch up. That said, I recommend that you make a pure playthrough at first (as in, only checking the answers for puzzles in the first post) and not interact much with the thread, because sometimes spoiler discussion is unmarked.

Yeah I think we shouldn't take that part as Word of God without a grain of Salt. Especially when it has "afraid of WHAT ISN'T REAL" which is a blatant disregard for any character. It's a reoccuring mindset of Akira to escape from being accountable for anything. As in both cases of Molly and Io.

I'm pretty sure the jesting narrator here is Pareidolia. I'm sure that's also him mocking when I rejected Haruka (You can't distinguish him by using of fonts, but it's the same italics here).

Chapter 1 is plain compare to others even after the rework. So RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN BEFORE YOU STUCK PERMANENTLY IN THIS ABYSS LIKE US just keep it til it inevitably becomes more engaging. Good thing is that the story doesn't have much lewd contents, at least not the one you'd like since you'll know soon enough that it only brings pain.

fr The most LiL line in this whole discussion?

“Hope is poison and truth is the only antidote.”
That’s poetry, man. That’s Akira and Io, right there. And that's the whole game: a world where hope is a risk, truth is dangerous, and every choice feels like you're playing 4D chess with your own soul.

So yeah—Green path purists, Red path defenders, everyone’s just trying to save a girl from the dark, in the only way they know how.

Io cute.
But also? Io tragic.
And you can love her through either door.

Io x Akira x Wakana
That would be one depressing throuple—one can only hope it occurs.

It would go like this:
Akira: Fuckity fucking fucks!
Walana: I wanna die...
Akira: Thou shall perish by the might of my stallion!
Io: *blushes and relents herself to being a cuck*
Akira: *hallucinates* MELON GIRL, YOU'RE MY ANNABEL LEE!

Actually, if Akira and Wakana would spitroast Io... that would be hot

Well said. Our experience is resonating with the narrative beat for beat. We're all just doing our best with the terrible tools we have.

Reminds me of a draft I have sitting around... Not sure how I feel about it but it seems serviceable as a blunt version of a large part of the LiL journey.

Who is the most disliked character?
Tsuneyo? Futaba?
hmmm
Nodoka, Kirin, and Otoha are probably up there, since they all hurt fan favorite characters.

I'm surprised that Tsubasa isn't as unpopular though. She's not only negligent towards her children, she's actively trying to feed them to a child predator. And so far she lacks the redeeming factors or tragic backstories the others have.

All my homies hate Nodoka (or they would if I had homies)
hated Nodoka.

Praise be. Let my girl keep fighting the good fight (which she still is given her last interaction with Ami/Akira).

Edit: On other characters that are hated, Osako got hot and bestfriends after finding out that Akira is a predator which is odd to say the least. But out of the hated zone for sure. And I softened to Otoha during my last replay tbh, still not great, but the horny will probably try to save her as well.

It annoys me a little bit though that Selebus is hellbent on repeating how she'd make a great couple with Maya at every opportunity, which is cringe at best (because it'd make Otoha to only go after Akira's girlfriends).

I have an issue where the only thing a character can do to give me cause to hate them is by committing the unforgivable crime (/s) of making me bored.

To that end, the only character I find that ever really does that to me is Miku. Molly and Futaba might come close sometimes but that's because their personality-based fan service sometimes isn't my flavor. Their character development and what they add to the casts dynamics is great, so while I technically like them a little less than others, it's like B tier while Miku is down in F tier for "Forgot she exists".

From my perspective, she functions more as a plot device for Makoto than anything else.

Tsukasa, Tsubasa, Ami and Chika are all on the lower end of the totem poll. You can also throw Rika in there after her cock of blocking Rin.

Tsuneyo is one of the more beloved (and funnier) characters. Futaba isn't hated per se, she's just very boring.

Yeah I softened a lot on Otoha after my recent second playthrough too, she was probably at the bottom of the pack before that. I'm not really sure why. Osako's very rapidly becoming one of my favourite side-girls though - I always felt she was very realistically written (and relatable, personally) and I'm super interested in seeing how her and Akira's blossoming friendship develops after her last couple of events.

Me too, but at least it's only Nu Maya. There's a part of me that kind of wants it to happen just so I can see the fallout over Otoha cucking sensei lol

Huh? Where'd the Tsukasa slander come from? First time I'm hearing about her being a hated character.

You will feel sorry about her, when her parents die.

Chika?
Ami?
Tsubasa? - because she is a manipulative bitch?
TSUKASA THOUGH??? WHAT DO YOU HAVE AGAINST WIZARDS

I don't even understand why people love Tsuneyo, She's the most boring character to me, alongside futaba.
