Good to know, thanks for that, also, do i REALLY need the guide that much? I'm usually the type of player to explore a lot but do we have some options that are that convoluted?
As for other VNs, I'm currently playing CK (waiting on Arc's big update now) and Eternum, both I really enjoy the writing aspect of it, I expect LiL to be at least just as good as these two (I'm also playing AHitR too but that story's still not in the same level)
Firstly, I'm not sure how good those games are written, but a common complaint about this game is it ruins other VN's due to their comparatively shit writing. (Recent updates have slowed these comments down, I think there's a bunch of fatigue that needs to be released). You should enjoy it if the game doesn't filter you out by the end of chapter 1.

The guide mod is just a quick goto solution. You can miss events in this game (and there are no routes, you need to see everyone's events) and we get so many posts about people asking why they missed events, and then they find out it's because 3 months of content ago you made a choice and it turned out to be the wrong choice, or didn't grind enough before you lost the ability to. People try to make choices that "hurt" people the least, but those nearly always result in missing events.

If you think you could commit to playing the longest VN taking all of your choices as you made them, and then when you catch up to the current update 2-3 months later, think that you'll do another playthrough but this time making the choices to see every event in the game this time (green path) then go ahead. But if you're only going to play through the game once I'd recommend making it a green path playthrough from the start, and to save yourself a ton of wiki searching just use the guide mod.

A little help here. Ive loaded v49 but I can't get "prepare for battle" to start. What's the trigger?

Why the reset puzzles, of course. Necessary to advance, and , you will need to check the specific txt on how to solve them. Also, there's some specific choices to progress the plot like "Call XXXXX at Saturday Night", or a missable event that requires you to call the new contact that appeared in your phone with no warning, and those are just a few examples. Missing an event makes it turn red on the replay menu, which is where the red and green terms you may have seen come from. Unless you're playing with the wiki open or with the guide mod, it can be hard to know how to not miss an event.

Aside from the fact the mod will help you avoid missing content as shmurfer said, with 35 girls it can take a long time to figure out who it actually is you can trigger or need to trigger next to progress at points. The vast majority of triggers are obvious (i.e you visit them in their room or at work, call them in the afternoon/evening or visit them on the weekend) but now and then there'll be one that's not typical for that character which can make it hard to figure out (e.g calling a girl in the morning who you usually can't call in the morning). Some events also involve multiple characters and a pre-requisite might be that you need to have a certain level of affection/lust for each so it can be a ballache figuring out what exactly you need to do to meet the pre-requisite.

There's also a couple of events that need to be done well after they become available if you don't want to miss content which the guide mod will tell you about - and then there's happy scenes which almost all have unique triggers, and there are several you're extremely likely to miss if you're not using the puzzle guide for the puzzles.

All of which is to say that the guide mod will likely save you a lot of time. I have the same mentality as you and didn't download the guide mod until my third playthrough but ultimately that just meant after chapter 1 I wasted a lot of time wandering about before just tabbing out and using the wiki to figure out what I needed to do anyway lol

I need someone to analyze Touka for me. What does she mean by this? And like, the last time I saw her getting flustered over what Sensei said was way back when he first met her so I just assume that she doesnt feel anything with him. But I barely even understand what shes been thinking recently. And why an apartment as a gift tho?

Touka is top tier genuinely, love her to bits.
A perfect blend of push and pull to tease you but make it obvious enough they want it.
Her arc from stereotype rich girl to whatever the fuck this is has been very very nice and stuff like this is why we love this game.
After further investigation it was illegal to commit adultery in Japan up until 1947. (That's the last time I get info from Wikipedia.) But you can be sued if you commit NTR on your significant other. Also apparently cheating is very common in Japan and people are very open about it. And you can marry, date, fuck your cousin in Japan but you cant do the same to siblings.
You know as a bit of a Japan hater myself this is perfect ammo for why I hate the fetishization of the country.
Cheaters can die in a hole, and I've never been cheated on.
Holy, Sensei is right, shes too good for him, a fucking angel. I've never been this emotional in an event.

Niki is a fucking Angel.
I'm genuinely cooking a conspiracy that she's not even real and was just a plant from the world to try keep him sane.
She's way too perfect, and no one remembered her when she showed up BUT it'd make sense for the world to keep his OG lover scrubbed from the records so to speak so take this with a huge asterisk. (Also Maya remembered her which says everything)

You sure? I won't doubt that some open relationships exist, but I remember some recent-ish case that was pretty much labeled REAL NTR on news.

So basically Blue Archive but going on the Depression Archive fantasies of some parts of the playerbase, noted.
While i don't know what CK is, i played eternum and i think it is one of if not the hottest porn game out there.

Story wise? It has a cool story device that constantly changes settings from horror to, action to adventure. And there is this mystery going in the bacground.

Girls? All beatifull with different qualities and characteristics.

It is an amazing game for sure.

How it compares to Lessons in Love?

Not even close.

From diologues to characters. From overall writing quality to subtle storytelling. From happiness and joy to depression. This game is the best thing i stumble upon in this site. It is so good that i can not enjoy the writing of games like eternum anymore.

I just recently played Ethernum, and I though it was just ... ok. I know it is one of the most recommended AVNs out there, but it just didn't hook me at all.

Some differences you will find between Lil and Ethernum. Ethernum's main plot is way more in the forefront compared to LiL, while LiL has much more of a focus on the LIs. And while Ethernum does have a mysterious main plot, LiL's is even more out there; to the point where I'm still not sure what is going on.

Add in that Ethernum's LIs all like each other and are ok with each getting with the MC, while there are some big rivalries between the LIs in LiL. You don't see a change at all in LiL until like Chapter 4, and even then it still kind of exists. To each their own on if that is a positive or negative.

Its hard to say if you will like the writing better in LiL or not; will depend on what your preferences are.

I could never get into Eternum. I still check the updates because the sex scenes are of the highest quality possible, but I just go straight to the gallery.

In terms of story itself, I recently replayed TLS (although that's rpgm and that's a dealbreaker for a lot of people).

And although it seems like an off-topic, it actually made me rethink a bit on how I see LiL, because the first time I played TLS I was very pissed at a couple of things, like the succubi of your harem still having sex with other people. I had a different take this time and it let me understand a lot more about succubus culture and accept it for what it is (quite deep actually).

Back to LiL, I think the recent chapter and most recent Selebus' commentaries and writing will eventually force us to rethink how to digest LiL (it's already doing it to me), but that doesnt necessarily lead to it becoming a bad game, just different. Maybe a good middleground that's less about overthinking things (since that seems progressively more counterproductive and prone to disappointment).

But I don't know yet, I'm still thinking about it. I do wonder if when LiL is finally complete all this discussion will also be pointless, and the regular reader will just go "good thing I just blazed through all that supernatural/religious nonsense, and waited for the game to give me answers instead of thinking about it".

When done well knowing the answers shouldn't diminish the discussion that lead to it. The Ghost of High Heart passages in A song of ice and fire are still beloved after her allegorical visions come do or don't come true. I think the size of narrative and number of different perspectives in LiL should enable the story to still hold up after plot questions are answered. Knowing that Maya Prime was wrong about some things doesn't diminish the impact of her scenes and her trying to understand things; the struggle in the story should still work whether the reader is aware of the why and how. I suppose there is risk that parts of the story will read as meaningless or redundant/filler without the obfuscation, but even then the effect on the characters is still there for most of it. Only recently have character reactions fallen flat, and they fell flat on first read anways. Sensei's relative stupidity/lack of action is there throughout, and that may be the most frustrating thing, as on first read a lot of the time his memory or lack thereof serves as a way to handwave why he doesn't say or do certain things, but if/when we get confirmation that inaction/lack of interaction with confidants were caused by apathy or complete incompetence instead of memory lapses/God fuckery, large sections of this whole story will read as treading water.

Hey everyone! I keep seeing people mention the Green Route—could someone tell me what it is and how you unlock it? Is it no Ami fuck route or something else?
When you miss events, they turn red. When you see an event, it turns green. There's a way to see every event in the game, this is Green Path.

Red and green path is just useful shorthand. Some major things happen based on choices that miss events. Not fucking Ami is red path. Being a bad homie to Rin is red path. Sometimes we'll compare things like red path and green path Io.

It's impossible to see all dialogue without cheating (at least one point in the chapter 1 rework made certain alt dialogue impossible) and there's a couple interesting things that happen in the game based on intense specific grinding, but most people aren't meant to see that during their playthroughs. Missing these is still Green Path, it's purely missed events that we care about here.

Just catch up to the current update and then ask / pay attention to the loremaster posts if you want to hear about things like that.

lol and I thought it was something like a green flag route where you are as nice as possible.
I'm a nerd, when i first came up with the Green Path name i went on a bit of a rant about the 'purity' of the route, i had just come out of another re-read of God Emperor of Dune and if you'd read that you'd know all about the Golden Path. In short, the Green Path is the true route, the way the game is meant to be played if you actually pay attention to what the author says, because the truth is you don't have an actual choice, there's the illusion of choice, you're free to choose wrong, but make no mistake, it is wrong. You might think you're making choices, but you're just ripping the story up because you can't handle the weight of the story, at least as far as the dev is concerned. The Green Path is making all the 'choices' Sensei would make, not what you would make.

Anyway, the name stuck, not that i'm complaining exactly, but i was being a bit pretentious when i first coined and ranted on about it like 2 years ago or something. Play however you like, the dev is a douche, sticking to a 100% save to see all the content is smart but if you can't get through some of the more twisted shit in the game, well, do what you want i guess.

Kind of, missing the event itself misses lore. and it's one of the bugs in the guide mod atm.

Have you got URM? we could tell you what to edit.

Although, didn't you just post about Glasswalker? That's after Toys. I kinda recommend rolling back to before Toys, editing the values to let you see it, and then letting the game text skip for a while. If your save was red before Toys probably ain't worth rolling back.
