Seemingly I never explained how this system works here, so a few updates back I created a bit of a convoluted system for fixing up the save issues.
The steps are as follows:
Load up your save from a prior update.
Click on the clock and it copies a really long string (Literally all of the important variables) to the clipboard, then you can save that as a .txt file or something like that.
Then on the new update, you just start a new game, hit "Skip" and input the code (probably by pasting it to avoid a lot of typing) and it should have all your old data but on a new version of the game, so no variable issues.
Here is an example code that I made for v8. It might not work fully in v7 and might just skip you right to the end of the content... but feel free to use it if you have no other prior saves and want to skip to the end.
