Probably a little too early for an actual review but this was an interesting start. Got me invested enough to come back for sure. If I had to nitpick for feedback there's a few things that stuck out a bit. One: I think it would be nice if the action scenes got rendered out a bit more. Like even an extra shot or two of John flying over the railing and then falling into the water for example. In the same vein, some sound effects for stuff like the fight scene would do this a lot of favors.

This is smaller, but so far the game moves pretty quick. It's really not a problem right now since it's just getting going and all, but I think it would be beneficial to have moments where things slow down too. We get a black screen at the end of content talking about how the MC goes to rest and recuperate. I'd be interested in seeing it rendered out and maybe getting some insight on how he's processing his first kill and the whole situation. Maybe have a moment where he interacts with Strea during it too. Not that every mundane situation needs to be shown, but it gives moments to breathe and explore the characters a bit. Maybe that's already planned but wanted to put it out there anyway. Sometimes games move a mile a minute and end up suffering for it at a point.

Wasn't too bad. Rather short so not much to review. Best to wait till the next update and hope it is beefier to give a better idea of what this will be all about. Everything seems fine though. Writing is decent enough, renders are alright (though the lighting could use some work), and it has music too (though it feels out of place at times).

Other than that, it was alright. Again, not a lot to go off here, so not really sure if this will be good or not. Either way, best of luck with this and thanks. ;)

So, finally got enough of the previously caught up with Dev games out of the way for me to try the new ones on the Games to Play List, and this happened to be 1 of them. Got to say, nice prologue, and very interested in seeing where this goes. Thank you so very much for this, and totally looking forward for more!!!

Think of it less like choosing the right series of things to say that will win over a particular character, more like that character is attracted to the MC based on the person he's developed into and shown himself to be by the pattern of choices made. If one of the girls is attracted to the MC because he is a kind gentleman who's treated her well, one of the other girls may not be as into that and you will have to take the long way around on getting to her heart (and between her legs). There won't be any single perfect run, because each choice comes as a tradeoff, but the upside is that means there is a lot greater variation between different playthroughs.
If the MC, based on his personality, takes more or less time to get specific girls, does that mean the player will miss out on sexual content with some of those girls that he would get if he had a different personality?

For example, if Girl A requires him to be a gentleman to get her, and this causes the MC to start having sex with her sooner, but causes him to block all sexual content with Girl B until later, when the player manages to get her.

Similarly, if he is not a gentleman, this causes him to get sexual content with Girl B sooner, but blocks sexual content with Girl A until the MC finally manages to get her.

Came across this game today while on my never ending journey to find new sci-fi games. From what I'm reading of the overview and seeing of the preview pictures. This looks fantastic. Looks like I have a new game to check out.

During the scene on the bridge i couldnt help but feel there is orion sitting and nova standing behind him lol. The music, strea's face, pose and attitude and her being a hacker

Not like i want to imply plagiaism or some shit, but its the 100% same vibe lol

I shall consider that a pretty good compliment, considering Nova is one of the most favorite LIs in one of the most popular games. I wear the Eternum inspiration on my sleeve, it's my favorite AVN, I'd say that whilst I'm designing the actual structure of the game more like Pale Carnations than anything, I really love and respect the writing of Eternum.

I don't think there was any particular character who's directly inspired by any other character, except David, I'll own up that David is 100% me looking at Darek from Being a Dik and Killian from Pale Carnations, and trying to work out how to make something similar. Granted, I kinda take him in a wild direction later, which is very divorced from the inspirations, so look forward to that. The only comparison I'll make is that a character who shall be introduced very shortly into the next update is rocking the exact same eyepatch as Nova, mostly because that's literally the only good one in the game.

You can end the game with all of them in a harem in any permutation of stats that you choose, but the actual path to getting to that harem ending would look different. So for example, a girl may require you to be leaning heavily into kindness to be with her at the first opportunity, but you can add her to the harem later as a cold MC, it'll just change what that relationship looks like.
Isn't that too much work? As you in principle make multiple games in one.

A little bit? But it's not as bad as it sounds. It's not like I have to write entirely different versions of every scene, or render every scene 4 or 6 or 9 times, depending on the permutations. Instead you just have branching moments. The general construction of a VN like this is kinda like a tree, with a solid core that you are always 100% going to have, the moments of story that can't get messed around with. But, then you have branches, where you divert off, and those may be something the play doesn't even see on a first play thru, but also you don't need to make them totally gone.

So for instance. Let's say the event is Nessie asking the MC out on a date to the library. In the case where he has the stat normally, it's just a wholesome date. If you're lacking that stat, you can write it such that event is never scene, or you can render some moments at the beginning, some in the middle, and some in the end, while you're doing the original scene, that set up an alternatively written version of the same scene. In this version, the MC may be crashing the library visit for some purpose, or whatever, you get the idea. The point is that you don't have to make everything twice, you can do a lot of sharing.

Update 2 already has a ton of that, I was aiming to work in at minimum 2-3 moments where the player's choices and stats change at least a little bit of the scene, which of course changes the way that the characters are represented. A good example is in the way that the MC approaches the hunt for the Progenitor, in the kind playthrough I make sure that he's stressing the goal of rescuing people, liberating the kidnapped victims. In the cold playthrough, he's still giving lip service to the concept of that, but his internal monologue and a bunch of the things he says suggests he's more concerned with the end goal than helping people along the way. Generally, you can get past the difficulty of managing things like that with clever thinking.

The update looks great!

I hope this isn't overstepping or anything, but I noticed the social link buttons are a bit jittery when mousing over them. I made a few changes to the way that screen works so the buttons no longer push each other aside when one of them is being hovered. I also added a variant so that you don't have to make a new screen every time you want to change where they appear in the game window.

Thanks for the update!

Thanks for this, this is great. UI is something that's tough to learn and I've had to pick it all up from scratch, so it's a little messed up. I'll be chipping away at it though, this will help.

I mean no offense by this, but I have to ask...

...what the hell did Liechtenstein do to deserve to get on this particular map?

Is the dev from there or something? I've been there, it's tiny and there's fuck all there (I mean, it's scenic), and it's completely landlocked, it's nowhere near water. :ROFLMAO:
