Game is pretty trash atm, not sure if paid version even works. You can press 'T' to delete the ground, and press 'Tab' to access the menu. You can't really do anything on the desktop version, and it looks like to do anything you need VR
not to mention the uv mapping on the most important parts is a little susOkay seriously.
I get it. It isn't easy making a game. It takes time and a lot of effort.
But FFS. Asking for money while there barely ANYTHING in it yet is... not just shady but outright shitty.
Yes you need funds. Yes you need motivation. But this is not the way to do it. Give at least some basic interactions to the "F2P" people to give them at least something to look at besides a walking simulator.
And then you don't even have anything to show really to those who would pay?
You can't even say it is just a "proof of concept" thing, since nearly NO ONE would ask for money for such a stage in development.
Hell i am completely useless if it comes to gamedesign, but if i really wanted to i could do the same that has been done here already. And i would NOT ask money for that yet.
Put in some basic things for people to look at just so they can at least check up on it if it appears worth it to spend money on to get more options once they pay.
Like this it is kind of an insult to many hard working devs who really do a lot of work and barely ask for anything.
This is not meant to tell you, you can't pull this off or you should stop. No it is meant to tell you to sit down and work hard on it to really earn that money you ask for. You have an idea that many would wish for to exist. So you will be geting money once you bring something to the table. Trust me.
I feel like dude definitely didn't care about making a game, but just wants money. Genuine question, how likely/easy is it to just grab a dragon model at slap it into a physics engine so the pussy can be spread? Been seeing these "games" crop up a lot.Okay seriously.

People are abusing the crowd-funding model.Okay seriously.

View attachment 2599127It’s REALLY easy to look at a monitor and judge everything with a critical and dehumanizing eye. There's no person, no context and no social ramifications to being toxic. So it’s really easy to just let the venom flow. I get it.
I am a houdini technical artist. I have been doing various 3D stuff for well over a decade. I have two degrees that directly correlate to this field. Odds are, without knowing it, several of you have seen my work in games. More games if you count developer artistry tools. In other words, I know the field very well.
Let it be noticed that my patreon is for me, not a game. LewdDragonGame is simply the game that I am working on. The scope of the game is small, and its development will not go on forever just to collect funds. The game has an end. When I find that the game is done AND is polished enough, the game will go free with nothing held back.
I will then work on the next game. If people want to support me, and/or have access while I develop, then they can stay a patron.
I live an extremely unpleasant life right now. This patreon is the only way I can make any money currently. The money is being put back into the game and escaping the hell that my family is in. Unlike other developers in this exact niche, I won't be checking out as soon as I make money. The small amount of money I get has a huge impact on my family’s quality of life. It's not spent on vanity. Only necessity.
I deeply care about doing well, and in a perfect world I wouldn't release anything until it was done. My loved ones and friends know what I am doing and have encouraged me to open the Patreon so that I can get paid while I develop. The patrons I do have are incredibly supportive and I don’t take a single one for granted.
It is incredibly hard for me to do social media. It's hard keeping things up to date. I always post progress in my discord and keep people up to date with weekly devlogs. So perhaps so much negativity is due to misrepresentation of the game due to outdated social media descriptions.
I know it's easy to be critical. But I am a one man show, with a lot going on in life. The game isn’t a scam. I am fully dedicated to it. It will eventually go free. Genuinely this is my dream job.
If you don't understand something that i am doing.... You don't have to assume the worst. Just ask. I am transparent on just about everything.

if you dont pay? A dragon model that can be looked at from all sides, including a walking simulator. So what content is available currently?
exactly my thoughtsIt's also REALLY easy to accuse others of being Toxic in a really well written PR message.
But your message doesn't vibe with the facts:
Anyway, if you are really authentic, why even care what's random people saying on a pirate site?
- Why pay-wall the project out of the gate when there's literally nothing to show for, Then promise the finished product will be "Free"?
- It should be the other way around - you are rightfully to be paid for your hard work, and people have no problem paying for a "finished game", but we are abused heavily already with all these Crowd-funding rabbit holes;
- If you really have good record and "know the field very well ", you will be listing the works you've done as the portfolio, instead of just saying it.
- Scamers always say they are not Scamers;
- You say you are not good with social media, yet this message is a perfect PR move, especially with the manipulative mention of "loved ones" / "family" / "hardship IRL" / "supportive community".
Just let your actions / project speak for you.
You are misunderstanding what we are on about here.Wall-o-Text
No one is being super toxic and "letting the venom flow". Everything stated in this thread thus far has been "What is in the game?" "Why is there so little in the game?" "I dislike paywalls." "I think this is a scam."It’s REALLY easy to look at a monitor and judge everything with a critical and dehumanizing eye. There's no person, no context and no social ramifications to being toxic. So it’s really easy to just let the venom flow. I get it.
Sounds like you are very accomplished and should have a very lucrative career. This is odd given what is later stated.I am a houdini technical artist. I have been doing various 3D stuff for well over a decade. I have two degrees that directly correlate to this field. Odds are, without knowing it, several of you have seen my work in games. More games if you count developer artistry tools. In other words, I know the field very well.
I mean, that is how Patreon normally works. It exists for the creator or studio which has created the account. Yes. That said, it also works on a give/take model. You take money and give content. You don't just open a Patreon and get free money without having something to show for it. Again just an odd thing to point out.Let it be noticed that my patreon is for me, not a game.
Well yeah I'd hope that you're working on the game instead of using child labor.LewdDragonGame is simply the game that I am working on.
Empty words. The scope of the game is small, and its development will not go on forever just to collect funds.
You can't say the game has an end when there's no goal, story, level design, or literally anything that would dictate a beginning and an end. Does the game end when the dragon climaxes? This goes on as long as you want. It's a physics-based sandbox sex simulator. The game has an end. When I find that the game is done AND is polished enough, the game will go free with nothing held back.
This should go without saying.I will then work on the next game. If people want to support me, and/or have access while I develop, then they can stay a patron.
That sucks to hear man. Truly hope you can get out of that vaguely terrible situation.I live an extremely unpleasant life right now.
That's fuckin' stupid of you. This patreon is the only way I can make any money currently.
Well it would certainly be strange if it was all put into an offshore account. The money is being put back into the game and escaping the hell that my family is in.
Empty words. Why would you even feel the need to point this out? SussyUnlike other developers in this exact niche, I won't be checking out as soon as I make money.
You make it sound like you live in an impoverished, third-world country and are constantly starving, yet you have 2 degrees and a decade of experience in creating "stuff" that "odds are, without knowing it, several of you have seen [...] in games". Taking a quick look at your Patreon, you have one tier at $10 USD with 78 patrons currently. That's $780/month, which last time I checked is fucking pathetic. That's nothing. Genuinely. You have a family? A whole ass family? And you're only making $780/month? And some amount of that money is going back into the game? Either you're a horrible liar or really fucking stupid banking everything on a game that has to compete with several others in the same vein that have larger teams and/or have been around for much longer. You're fucking opening a barbershop next to a Fantastic Sams AND a Supercuts and you expect to make this work? Delusional. The small amount of money I get has a huge impact on my family’s quality of life.
Why do you feel the need to say this? It's not spent on vanity. Only necessity.
But this is not a perfect world.I deeply care about doing well, and in a perfect world I wouldn't release anything until it was done.
Your loved ones (and friends) know that you live in literal, actual, Christian H-E-Double-Hockey-Stick Hell and that you had the bright idea to just start "developing" and they encouraged you to open a Patreon? No one said, "Hey Jacob, maybe you should use those 2 degrees and that decade of experience to try and find a job that pays well." You didn't even have the idea to open a Patreon yourself? You needed encouragement from others? Were you just going to develop this game without telling anyone or getting paid for it originally? My loved ones and friends know what I am doing and have encouraged me to open the Patreon so that I can get paid while I develop.
This should go without saying. No need to praise them here, they're not reading this. The patrons I do have are incredibly supportive and I don’t take a single one for granted.
Sure.It is incredibly hard for me to do social media.
Uh-huh.It's hard keeping things up to date.
So it's not hard for you to do social media or keep things up-to-date.I always post progress in my discord and keep people up to date with weekly devlogs.
No I don't think that's where the negativity comes from.So perhaps so much negativity is due to misrepresentation of the game due to outdated social media descriptions.
As are many others.I know it's easy to be critical. But I am a one man show, with a lot going on in life.
I is never a good sign when you feel the need to say this. The game isn’t a scam.
You shouldn't be. I'm pretty sure your family in H-E-Double-Hockey-Stick Hell needs your full dedication.I am fully dedicated to it.
[X] to DoubtIt will eventually go free. Genuinely this is my dream job.
Okay. I'm asking you, because I don't want to assume the worst. Explain your full situation, where you are from, where you went to school, post pictures of your degrees, explain what your family does, how they were forsaken to H-E-Double-Hockey-Stick Hell, and how this game and your Patreon is the solution. If you don't understand something that i am doing.... You don't have to assume the worst. Just ask. I am transparent on just about everything.
You have my empathy for your situation, but you also should understand that you quite literally payWALLED the dragon off. Like you didn't withold a toy or something for the next public release like most other devs do, you unironically walled the entire game off. Of course people are going to react this way. It’s REALLY easy to look at a monitor and judge everything with a critical and dehumanizing eye. There's no person, no context and no social ramifications to being toxic. So it’s really easy to just let the venom flow. I get it.
