Now that FVDD has been released and received your approval, what comes next?

At first, we would like to take a few days off to gather energy for all the stuff on our list and also to collect more critiques from you.

We listen to you, and we will act upon your critiques and take care of your opinions.

While Kir Laurentis has now received the script from us and is preparing a Russian translation, we will smooth out any grammar issues you point out to us in the English text.

Regarding the improvement of the English writing, our humble thanks go already to one of our followers, who pointed out 84 issues to us which could need a retouching hand.
AbyssalEros and Farra Triss will have, most probably still this weekend, a voice chat where they will discuss everything he pointed out; both are eager to improve their English and that of FVDD.

This means, in the near future we will publish an updated version of FVDD, which will contain a language fix for the English version and all translations we have ready until then, including the German original script.

Grabiobot will be busy with a bit of freelancing work in the next couple of days, but he intends to work in between at porting the new SoL-Player to Android and probably to Linux, too.
About a Linux port, we will hold a poll soon, to figure out how significant the interest of you is for such a port, as it was very minor for LICAT and might not be worth the trouble doing anymore.

As you all have seen the SoL-Player allows you to play not only FVDD but also every other release we will publish in the future.
All three of our projects, our Trinity, are already visible but not yet accessible.
Naturally, we still need a bit of time to offer you My Life with Laura, but we already published an SoL-Game in the past, Grabiobot’s Puzzle game.
This little game will not merely be converted for the SoL-Player. Instead, it will be a complete rewrite with enhanced gameplay and a new scenario, including an added function to deliver regularly more images from us to our patrons to be enjoyed.
As we are already speaking about conversion, we are also in the process of converting the first story from the anthology collection, Lewd Stories of Trinity, for the new SoL-Player. Soon you can take off again to the clouds above Trinity.

There is more to tell about what we will do in the next weeks and months, as you surely realized we have not mentioned the forthcoming prequel of My Life with Laura, or this main project itself.

Now, that we have published two stories within the Trinity-verse, it is time to say a few words about the English we decided to use in our projects.

As you all know we are all no native speakers of the English language. AbyssalEros, our writer, is a German-speaking demon of lust, and while he lived the life of a mortal, he learned in his school days the English language. In German schools, like in every European school system, they teach you the old British English, with a decent Oxfordian pronunciation.

Wait, you now say, but AbyssalEros is not using British English at all!

You are correct, and this was a deliberate choice of him.

While most learn British English in school, the actual English of the real world is American English. Most popular books nowadays hail from American soil, and the same is true for movies and serials, while computer games and the whole communication within the net – (anti-)social-media or not – is done more or less in a mixed style, depending on the place of origin of the communicator and the influenced to which he was exposed literary, in a broad sense.

Due to these influences, most non-native speakers use American English words in combination with the punctuation of British English grammar.

AbyssalEros strongly believes that this does not generate a good style. Therefore he tries to use American English in all regards; fighting the teachings of his own youth, which told him to use British English. But this was in times before the world wide web, before American paperbacks swarmed the European shores in flocks, and before awesome serials were streamed by companies, only geeks of the cyberpunk setting were able to imagine decades ago.

All this has spread the usage of American English at the expense of British English.

Further, we, the Society of Lust, create adult erotic fiction, and to be honest, the British English sucks in that regards, not as much as the German language, but nonetheless, it sucks.

The American English, in contrast to the prudish view of most of its speakers, is much more predisposed for lewd but still sexy words, that can be used for an erotic story.

Let us give you just one example that has a not too obvious sexual connotation – you know the threat of a ban due to posting sexual stuff in public posts.

British have a stick in the arse, while Americans have one in the ass.

The British word sounds quite harsh and even stays so when used in an erotic sense, while the American word, although it is also used as a swear word, sounds less harsh, especially when it is used with a sexual undertone.

All in all, the rude words of American English are, at least in AbyssalEros’ opinion, more suited to be used in an erotic situation.

After our release of First Valentine’s Day Date, we were a bit silent but not unproductive.
Farra Triss nearly finished the Romanian translation, and our dear friend Kir Laurentis is well into the translation of the Russian version. The German version, naturally, is completed since a while, as it was the base for the English version.

When those translations are ready, we will release an upgraded version of FVDD that also includes all language corrections to the original English release. There were no significant issues, but still, there were some, and AbyssalEros fixed all those issues with the kindly help of Xrayman and the writers of the Aftermath Team of GateKeeper. The later had to endure a lot of AbyssalEros’ grammar questions.

What else have we done or are we doing?

Grabiobot is back at the binary battlefront enhancing the game engine of Caligyne and all the other parts involved in creating our stories and games, like the editor, Ligator.

AbyssalEros and Grabiobot had some time ago a long talk about the resolution of our renders and henceforth the resolution of the SoL Player and all our projects.
As you probably realized our previous releases all have a non-standard resolution of 1200x720. Mainly this is a heritage from the days Grabiobot developed his first game with the c-cup scripting language.

You might ask yourself now, why do we tell you this?
The quick answer is: because Grabiobot is changing the code of the Caligyne engine to support a widescreen aspect ratio.
This means that our future releases will be in Full HD, speaking the images will come to you in 1080p.

What does this mean for our past releases of LICAT and FVDD?
With the next release version of our SoL Player, coming along with the upgraded version of FVDD and the transposed version of LICAT, we will only technically resize the images of these stories.
Actually, we discussed to re-render the images, but eventually, we decided against it – for now.

Another news is about our future releases too.

When Grabiobot first started to use DAZ Studio to render images for his initial projects, the actual generation of figures in use was Genesis 3/Victoria 7, while the figure generation called Genesis 8 was still in development and not many assets were available for these figures. This had changed last year immensely.
Recently Grabiobot and AbyssalEros have increased their asset libraries hugely for Genesis 8 figures; and AbyssalEros, who has learned to use DAZ Studio himself, has recreated Laura using this new figure generation.
Initially, it was just a pastime for him to try himself on Laura 2, but the result was so lovely that we decided to use this new model instead of our old model which is still based on Genesis 3.

Already last year we discussed the switch to Genesis 8 but postponed it back then for the time being.
But recently, speaking, while creating the images for FVDD, we had a lot of troubles with Genesis 3 expressions for Laura. A lot of them looked very cartoonish or made her look like a failed surgery experiment.
We tested a lot of expressions in the past weeks with our new Laura, who is based on Victoria 8, and nearly all of them work perfectly well with her.
This means we will already use Laura 2 for NOOG, and not as we planned last year to make the switch to Genesis 8 with My Life with Laura.
