No doubt about that, messing with those settings when the control the pace of the game can mess your play up good. I made sure to only do so after I thought the content was done and to have a backup. I noticed money had the least affect overall. You can change some of the other stuff but if you're set on money the grind becomes less without really taking away from the experience.
I think what they're talking about is the lull between 6th and 7th exhibition barrier when you have to tell the customers off when they take off bra and panties. By telling them off the MC reputation and bar reputation increases. It eventually evens out between 70 and 60 reputation until the threshold is crossed for exhibition barrier to allow MC to work without a bra. At this point MC's exhibition stat needs to be grind to over 300 (via stripping from customers) to allow for no underwear while working. However I don't think the bar reputation really changes once MC is working without underwear. I'd have to check again though.
At this point, if it's the bar reputation that we're still talking about, I don't know if it is in fact a glitch or a means to soft lock the bar reputation level for this version. 3-3 is a legit run (except for skill points and cash modified) and I'm in the process of better understanding the bar reputation thing. 2-3 I changed the bar rep value but it will not go up or down from the interactions while working which is why I'm not sure there is a glitch with the bar reputation is the first place; it could be a misunderstanding of how that variable functions. If what I believe is the case bar reputation is not designed to go below a threshold of around 40 or 50 yet?

That's what I thought that it wasn't a glitch at all but a soft-lock until there's more content! I never expected it to get to 0 but it does hover in place until her exhibition is at or above 300. Great, thanks!

Yes, the cleaning is entirely avoidable. The bar/waitress job is part of the core gameplay loop, but it's turn-based, so it doesn't require quick reflexes, QTEs, or spamming mouse clicks.
I've been getting one in the bar where the warning that someone is about to molest her shows up, and if I choose "let him", nothing happens and the game moves to the next round.
