I would prefer a simple backround with less emboss on everything. May be you can add that as an option so people can use your default design or just something simple instead of trying to find something in between?
Looks like she had enough looking at the checkered boxes background of the pause menu

this is the best of all. blurs make it much more comfortable for the eyes.
Is there a new update and I am missing new content? these new pictures are from the next update or from the past one?

Ive been playing games on here for YEARS and this is absolutely not true. There are devs like y.v who have put out two FULL games in the time its take for this update
I don't know why the darkening and boxes when the problem with the background for me is more a question of 'why a purple checker box pattern'. Aside from that, very excited for a big update.
I mean I just wouldn't have such an eye-catching pattern and colour combination for a background at all. It's better to have something boring than something distracting or hard to read. It's the dev's choice in the end and it certainly isn't a big issue, I just always thought it was quite odd.
Never minded how the background looked at all, but the darkened surrounding around the text definitely makes it way easier to read.
