Just be doubly sure Russian law won't get you into trouble like that dude in Norway, like double check laws and whatever.
How did Norwegian government even find out the fact that this person downloaded the game? If it's prohibited in your state, just use VPN or idk.

By the way US law also prohibits this

10 out of 10, would go to prison again (jk, but I gotta try this out now).

People trying to restrict my freedom could suck a big one.

The Norwegian government was alerted by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children because the guy was seeding actual CSAM "to help a friend but he didn't know what it was" so his IP address got reported. The game was just incidental to the searches and became the media inflection point for an otherwise open and shut actual felony.

Where did you read that info (about the seeding) ? It would make more sense since this is what NCMEC is for but is it confirmed?

I have been seeing this screen grab going around, although admittedly I cannot find the source. I suspect it is auto translated from some Norwegian news story.

Edit: Another screen grab from an auto translated article

Yeah I read the first part but not the second one. It would make sense if he was seeding actual CSAM since it is easily flagged by people monitoring the DHT. A game wouldn't have been flagged at all. Even crazy games that break rule 7 of F95 do not trigger any response for the police.

Also, what do you mean by the DHT?

The Distributed hash Table that has information about the files being torrented and the various IP address connected to these files. My understanding is that it is what is queried when someone investigates illegal content being torrented online since it reveals the IP of the user downloading and sharing the files. It is also easy to locate specific problematic files.
