For those wondering and still asking why the dev won't do this full time.
1. What the dev does or doesn't do with his daytime job is none of our business. Patreon also does not work in a way that you can demand shit from a dev, company, project. Bought as advertised. If the patreon page states "tip jar, your money supports me greatly etc." it is exactly that.
2. If patreon decides tomorrow your project is not to their liking a dev can lose 100% of his income in a matter of days or even hours. You would have to be insane to actually agree to that. Steam is a different story for now but no one knows if they change their mind again.
3. A day time job is a steady income of money while a patreon project (regardless which) can run great with massive support or absolutely horrible also in a matter of days.
4. If you want a dev or project (regardless which) to actually produce an update, game, project faster and to your liking you have the following options.
A: Throw a ridiculous amount of money at them. (nothing below 500k a month) Thats about the amount you need to start a 2 man company and not fail in the first three months. (Those 2 however have to work their asses off) That will speed up the game dev process round about 10%. If you want to increase that you have to increase the money distribution accordingly.
B: Add something to the project. You can code? animate? have other skills that can make the process involved in said project way faster or easier? Awesome. Offer your help, guidance and get your game maybe faster?
C: Take over the entire thing. You can do better? Your skills are superior? Nice. Make your own game. Same models, same story, same renders and show us how you do all that in half the time, better quality and way faster updates continuing forward.
If those options are not to your liking or you disagree feel free to write about it while we wait for the coming update. However be prepared that if you just want the updates to be faster while adding nothing to the process, patreon or have no clue about game developing we will probably tear you verbally a new exit on your lower back end.
