9/20 - Prologue Episode

I've pretty much been dedicating all of my time towards working on the prologue episode to Light-Space Love (as I mentioned on my SubscribeStar and in my Discord, Episode 2 is coming later rather than sooner due to censorship concerns and that I want to launch this build on Steam). But TL;DR since I haven't posted here, Episode 2 had some pretty extreme content planned, as for the prologue episode, it just so happens that it doesn't include content that is as extreme, so we'll be working on that next instead.

Unrelated to that, I'm also making some pretty significant changes to the story as well -- I just want to get that out there now before anyone is surprised when they see these changes in the coming builds.

Story

So, the prologue episode will be taking place before Linessa properly settles in as Captain of Deep 69, it will follow her journeys as she extends an olive branch to the various faction leaders of the Gal-Sector on behalf of the Federation, forming the very critical relationships that she will be pivotal to the next episodes.

Linessa will have a small crew with her, consisting of some characters you've already met in Episode 1 along with some new characters unique to this setting!

Gameplay

I'm aiming towards a ship management simulation style of gameplay for this episode. It's taking the Exploration Mission mini-game and turning it into a fully-fledged standalone game with lots of fun (and sexy) mechanics!

I've overhauled the combat system, by making the ship battle itself much more simplified, while adding in more alternative approaches to ending an encounter, such as allowing Linessa to choose to take the path of Diplomacy in order to convince her opponent to lay down their weapons, sending your expedition crewmembers to board the enemy's ship and "engage" with their crew, or, just simply forcing them into submission by disabling all of their systems until they're no longer able to fight back.

Additionally, each system on your ship has unique properties that can change the course of an engagement and will make each encounter unique depending on how you want to engage with your opponent.

I'm also doing a few changes to how traversal is handled, with each sector being broken up into sub-sectors with a final encounter that ends with Linessa encountering the faction leader of that sector before she's allowed to advance to a new sector.

Some of these leaders will be friends or antagonists you've met before, while others will be entirely new faces.

More Aliens!!!

One common thread I've seen is the demand for proper aliens, mainly with showing alien penises depending on the enemy encountered. Well, we've listened and we don't want to disappoint! Starting out with your expedition crew, there will be a unique penis attached to the enemy depending on the Xenos that you're boarding, which will be reflected in the (soon to be animated) artwork!

Anyway, I'm Hyped!

I'll share some screenshots at the end of this post of what I've been working on, but that's about it for now. I'm very excited for this prologue episode. I've always wanted to create something special, namely a sexy space sim management style game, and I think this will scratch that itch.

I plan on opening up a prototype testing phase that anyone can sign up for if they want the earliest of early access on this new episode. I'll have more information on when that will be in the coming week.

10/4 - Update on Prologue and Episode 1 Update

Just to give a quick update, I’m still working on the prequel episode, it might take another month or two to have a playable build ready, though I will likely be getting a very rough playtest build out earlier than that. I'll keep you all updated on that and make an announcement once the testing phase for that begins if anyone is interested in playing that.

For the time being, I will be releasing an update to Episode 1, which will include an update to the Interrogation mini-game which will include new animations and a blowjob animation for the scene. The gameplay will also be completely different to be a lot simpler and make the timing more intuitive.

I’ll also be adding a new animation to the intro scene with Linessa before the Darkmatterium reactor breaks down.

I’m also making a change to how the Arcade and mini-game functions, where if you successfully complete a previous mini-game, it will unlock the next mini-game. This won’t apply to game overs, you’ll still need to play the Story in order to unlock those.

So, what’s up with the prequel?

For the prequel, I’ll be opening up an alpha testing phase for people that are willing to give feedback and playtest the prototype build of the prequel episode. A lot of the elements that you see within this prototype build will most likely not be in the final product. For example, Linessa’s current artwork is getting a revamp as we’re focusing on having a consistent style for our protagonist.

Some of the crewmembers may also be swapped out for different characters as there will be some story re-writes as the prequel will lead into the first episode which will have some changes of its own to the story while I continue to work on this build.

Finally, the core gameplay loop will need go through some changes as well. I’ve settled on it being an exploration style of gameplay where the player visits various points of interest in each sub-sectors, but how combat, negotiations and interactions play out will likely evolve as development continues.

I plan on taking some ambitious steps with this project, I’m pretty excited for it, and I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was also apprehensive, since I’m trying to pursue a style of gameplay I don’t think has been represented much in other adult games – granted, my exposure to NSFW games is quite limited as well -- the strongest inspirations for the game would be FTL:Faster Than Light or Crying Suns, which aren't NSFW in nature, but have a gameplay style I really enjoy.

just found the game 2 days ago and I can't stop playing until today when Linessa is maxed out in both. I love her design. Hope to see more from you

It was a lot of fun coming up with her design -- I likes my designs to be pushed as lewd as they go while still technically being clothing.
