everytime I lose, mid struggle phase commands change to combat phase ones and I can't do anything
This build was a big change to the combat and other mechanics. The focus right now is to test the new combat mechanics, which have broken other aspects of the game. All will be fixed going forward, though an older build has been posted further up the thread.

This game has modified the RPG Maker UI too much, making it really laggy. I hope it can be properly optimized to make the game run smoothly. Also, it seems like only the female protagonist is usable—I don't know how to recruit teammates. Moreover, after being defeated by goblins, it just blacks out and freezes.
Apparently optimization is one of the focuses of the series of updates the game revamp is receiving.
Yes, normally you'd get companions after beating the 1st floor boss but said boss is current disabled thus you're not able to recruit others. Reason goblins crash the game is due to them kidnapping you and jailing you in their lair, which is currently not in this game build.

You know, there was another really beloved game that decided to completely redo it's combat system, it cut content to accommodate this and began adding the same things earlier builds had as "new updates". And all that happened was people played the old, more content-filled and non-buggy update.
Then the dev had a burnout and Saria Reclaimed is no more. Because it can understandably be hard to continue when financial support dries up, nobody looks forward to old stuff in the "new" releases and you've been doing the same thing for years.
Maybe Spank tank is different, but I've never known a game that massively and completely revamped itself 3 years into development succeed in the long run, and now it's worrying that this game, which really only needed some number balancing and to continue producing the H content, will end up the same way.

malise and the machine had the same thing aswell , suddenly it needed new 3d looks effects expressions with bunch of new needed' things which were in fact not needed and made the game go abandoned

I am massively sad that I deleted the build with the two guest characters in it. They were unique design I actually kinda like.

Always a worry when a dev makes a big change, but this one appears to be successful so far, and moving at a fair pace.
