I don't know about an update, but this tracker for Inno's discord activity is a little comforting.

mini confirmed about it at least, we will see on tmr if inno gonna to release update or post report since it was has been half year passed but don't get hope up tho
The question is, other than if she will release the game tomorrow, if it will be a real update after 6 months...

you were right about, inno has been silence since half year now and no any report about game or him/her beside online status report in discord but main question is why inno take all half year to finish the update, all because IRL issue or something else?

Actually hilarious that I thought about this game for the first time in months only to see Inno has just come back from another extended break. I sympathize on a real level with fear and anxiety from not being able to finish something on time, or it being bad. Much less sympathy than I'd normally have though because she's been getting backer money every month. Another reason to not auto renew subscriptions...

Well i mean she's the one that's setting these deadlines, makes it hard to feel sympathy for someone when they do it to themselves. They should just be transparent and say that the new update will come out when it comes out and not provide an ETA, her supporters have waited this long with no updates or communications and I doubt she'll loose them if she does that.

There is no shame in relying on a community willing to collaborate and adding content, as long as credit is given when requested, and payment is given when it can be afforded

My first advice to any game dev is that if the game has an open setting or sandbox mechanics, make it as moddable as possible from the get-go and focus on core elements

If the core design of the game is good, that will make it easier to cultivate a community, and once you have that, they'll adopt the game and make the game more than it could ever be

Look at Starbound, which felt unfinished when they stopped development, but the many mods there are nowadays make that irrelevant, and now you even have Sexbound

Lilith's Throne may be poorly optimized and development may be sluggish, but it's full of great ideas and designs I love to see in other games

sorry to derail but no, starbound modding haven't really went anywhere beside adding new stuff that don't change the core gameplay all that much, not dissimilar from mods for lilith's throne

gonna be another delay?
Lol. So the only thing that changed since late December is that she apparently added an outfit creation system. Over half a year. Unless that was already part of the small preview update. I'm impressed.

Bets are on, how many "Update soon" updates before the update is out? And how long will be the "two weeks" before a public release?

Still 99% sure DSG or Ace skinwalked just to prevent the Abandoned tag.

For all the Discord whines about F95 being toxic, Inno's only incoming traffic comes from TFgames and F95.
And Ace only updates TFgames once a year if he remembers.

I know what everyone here has said about Inno. But I still didn't expect them to use the "after missing the previous deadline, I got so stressed out that I just froze up for a little while" excuse two updates in a row.
Inno has used that excuse or some variation of that same excuse for years.

It is a tried and true, well worn, battle tested, "Inno Excuse".
It doesn't surprise me in the least.

My bet is that Inno actually gets the update out, roughly, by the time they state they would.
The 'two weeks later' will probably be 2 weeks later.

After said time of intensive, nose to the grindstone, 18 hour marathon coding sessions of 'hard labor' making said updates, Inno will collapse in exhaustion, spend a week or two chatting on Discord, then disappear for a few months again ... Because they will have set another deadline.

Yea a good modding API cultivate and offloads a lot of work, then they can be hardcoded later on if they're good enough. From what I can tell though, most of LT's modding API is adding to a list of items that can be used (eg clothes), which isn't bad but most mods are trivial, especially since clothes are SVGs in the corner of the screen.

The main problem I see is that Inno made a game without proper structure (not unexpected, agile-like development causes that) but because they use their own custom engine, it's a pita for them and more so anyone else to add stuff that's feature level.

I'm working on a censoring program and I've basically had to make it with the mod API in mind from the start, simply because it's like reinventing the entire program if I decided to do it later.

I'm not too involved in their development but I assume like most developers they don't have a checklist for the update, would probably help for other devs involvement which would 1) alleviate workload and 2) create more modular elements of the game
