This is not a new tool.

Basically all DLsite games and Ren'Py games with sales already have been translated into Chinese by LG (and its predecessor).

But outside the Chinese field, there aren't many samples indeed.

Actually, it's not necessary. The Qwen series models are general-purpose models capable of translating between any languages. However, I still recommend using the online API — it performs much, much better and is hundreds of times faster.

When I set those as the source and target languages, it still outputs as chinese, so do I need to use a different model, is it because oneclickllama defaults it to that, or is there a setting I'm missing in linguagacha itself? I followed the updated video tutorial from Honuel but substituted the API for local API from the oneclickllama github, did both sakura and qwen in separate runs and both gave chinese. I'm probably missing something obvious, just don't know what it is

You can try activating the English prompt under “Custom Prompts”. I use LM Studio as Open AI -API -like Server . Everything is translated into German for me.

The SakuraLLM series models can only translate text from Japanese to Chinese, so SakuraLLM is of no use to you.
The Qwen series models are general-purpose models capable of translating between any languages.
The only relevant settings are LinguaGacha - Project Settings - Source/Target Language.
You can check the screenshot below, the Japanese text is correctly translated into English.
If you still can't do it, we recommend describing your steps and settings in more detail/screenshots, and we'll help you figure out exactly what the problem is.

Of course, there were a few lines with ", but I quickly removed them using Notepad++.
