Personally, I'm rarely using rating to form opinion before downloading the game. I'm trying to read reviews but then: people don't know how to write reviews. Unfortunatelly, it unavoidable on public forum, where only limitation on review is min 200 characters. Sometimes, when I read reviews, I really want to bash my head against the wall. I don't know why people think that because it's adult visual novel, each 5 minutes of gameplay need at at least some nudity.

Sure, people are entitled to their opinion, but there's a responsibility to to aim for some objectivity. That's even an, unenforced, rule.

In my experience fuckfest fans are the most likely to shit on story-heavier games and VNs, and often find the idea that not every adult VN has to be a porn VN pretentious. Leading to wallbash worthy reviews.

But yeah, I think a min of 200 words or 700 characters would be better. I don't think I've written a review under 700 words... Not sure why I wrote reviews when I almost never read reviews myself tho...

Yeah, there's that, though I'd say the Founder Family oligarchy plotline is at least a strange element in the mix for a wholesome maledom KN, and that the MC does have questionable behaviour a couple of times. But it's rare a maledom game is this wholesome, or that a harem MC doesn't start way closer to zero than this.

They both seem to have a point on an LI's character, and the MC's creepy behaviour being validated by the narrative, but the reviews themselves aren't great. They both milk the point they have silly, and I wonder if the one with the political complaint would complain about the politics in 1 of those old "Sex Kitten" crap games too... or is it his problem that the dev doesn't validate his ideology?

And imo someone writing "bait and switch" in a review is usually a red flag.

Would agree on that one. Sure, you can just not like a game for its topics, but it should be objective. IMO people should only give ratings for games they actually would play (someone who does not like female protagonist should not give a rating for a game which features a female protagonist for example) AND they should also be objective in the effort and quality of the game.

E.g. I cannot understand how people can give a game like Nympho Tamer a 5 star or call it one of the best games on this site. It is a pure fuckfest and a dumb one on top of it. I still like the game and play every Update, because I am into Bimbofication and enjoy a good fuckfest from time to time, but objectively you cannot give this game 5 stars IMO.
Same the other way around - someone can hate everything on Eternum, but if they give 1 star to Eternum, I have to question if they give basically every other game on this site 1 star as well, since you have to honor and respect the quality of the game.

Regardless, I always value detailed reviews more than the 1 star reviews because someone does not like one small thing on a game or the 5 star reviews on version 0.1 because it will have Harem + Incest.

IMO Cosy Cafe got better over time. I see it as some kind of relaxing book to read, not so much action and I am not really excited about how the story progresses like with other games, but I like the wholesome story. And the progression got better as well, I was first annoyed at the game because MC got girls way too quickly and way too effortlessly. In a Harem game I expect that MC will get every member of the Harem eventually and when we are realisitc, it never takes effort, since you have some clear decisions to make, but if it happens too quickly, it just feels effortless. Especially Lucy as the first LI was done way too quickly which now results in her basically being a sidekick, since all the other relationships need to be developed.
However, in the latest chapters, it feels less effortless to get the girls. You still know that they will end up in the Harem, but there is more development and it feels more earned.

The Founding Family-storyline is pretty weird, but I cannot say that I hate it.

That update got pulled back for some reason, seems to have had additional files it shouldn't have. Might be best to wait even if you managed to grab the files already.

I've tried most of them, in my opinion:
1- pretty promising
2- too small to rate
3- an amateur's plot
4- garbage
5- so far, great, waiting for the next chapter
6- so far, just a game fragment, difficult to rate
7- I haven't played this yet,interesting

The dev of Echo is also the dev of My Real Desire and Myth of Slayer, or someone who shapeshift and take over his pantreon, because the difference in writing is like day and night. Yeah I know Echo's writing is not the best of best, but man at least it actually land with emotional moment, and the characters are more fleshed out.

but these 2 VN are pretty average... I'm following Myth of Slayer because the plot is unusual, but LI doesn't impress at all

Nah,just a bit promising, seeing the dev mixing eternum and badik,doesn't sound like it will turn into something outstanding

And that's the issue. How's he gonna handle 2 games at the same time :unsure:

He put out his game once a month, he is one of a very few devs that actually update their game regularly, so I don't think there will be problem
