Do I get locked out of Maya and Alice routes if I choose the non friendship route with Isaac?
Last time Isaac was here, he went abroad and I unlocked Olivia's fucking scene on his room, am I locked out or something?

No, you will only miss friendship route scenes which is with linda and his mom(will see solo scenes instead) nothing else.
I've been trying to get the newspaper event to trigger for quite some time, its afternoon in the living room correct? I keep on skipping to afternoon there for weeks but nothing is happening other than the random mom yoga event, am I missing something?

Then you probably missed something, try visiting gym at night once, try watching tv at afternoon/night(following next day at night go outside your house)
