All of the developers of this game, except the original developer, are the problem with it.
They convinced him that together, they'd make a "real" game and not just a porn game.
They've been pushing for things like combat, puzzles, exploration, platforming, graphic and engine changes.
They pushed for an external, unnecessary launcher for the game so they can segregate content between 'paid' players and 'unpaid' players.
But none of it ever gets done, because it's easier to milk expectant people than make money from a finished product.
They make like 0.2 sex scenes a year, if that.
Even the launcher is halfassed and at times, links don't work.
They added pointless survival shit like needing to eat.
They added a barely working companion system that outright spoils characters showing up before you meet them.
Character dialogue is a mess and you'll get conversations that make no sense as you've never met this character but they're talking to you like you're their best friend and you've known them for months.
This should completely destroy your confidence in the LoK team, as this is their "2.0" update and it still basically lacks any early polish and there's just "this is being worked on" everywhere. None of their promises have been met. Not one. They haven't made a proper sex game, they haven't made a proper game. There are 'locked features' behind paying a subscription for an unfinished, single player porn game. The differences between the paid version and the free version are so minimal that it will never be worth the price.
Even if the game receives updates, please leave this title as "Abandoned" as retribution for them basically killing what could have been one of the best titles on this website.

It's purely fixes. Not a bad thing at all but a competent dev team would mix it with progress.
The fact that so much fixing was necessary to run a game proves they are lacking hard and should shut it down to save face for the last possible time.

It amazes me deeply that there are still those who think anything decent will emerge from this. It's like watching someone water a rock and hoping it will blossom. 
I am 90% certain that the Legend of Krystal is cursed to never be completed.

Drop half ready 2d game with simple but adoring sceenes and corruption mechanic to switch into endless loop of producing unplayable garbage. How many years have passed? They still didn't have anything worth mentioining.
