I just love it when games are so stupidly hard that I get screwed over in like the third mission. Literally unable to 1v1 a single bandit. Lovely game.
In fact, I think you need to put this situation on a realist scale and see how it goes: A malnourished teenage girl with scrawny hands and legs vs a grown ass adult bandit male that steal, eat and rape to his heart's content. Yeah, no cap.

But...bonking him in the head then cut his throat or douse him in gasoline ? Absolutely, I have read about many hookers revenge story like that irl, not the most gallant kill but it works.

Do you mean Lona? if yes, then yeah, they are aggressive against you if you have low enough moral, and will outright attack you if you are a criminal

For early levels you can try to get the trap skill, it's easily one of the best skills in the game and it can hard carry you through so many fights

In fact, I think you need to put this situation on a realistic* scale and see how it goes: A sword cuts just as easily in a child's hand as it does an adult

being an adult male doesn't make your skin thicker, tougher, resistant to injuries

Based on stat, bandit share similar stat with guardmen, and guards wear at least chain mail, some wear plate armor, swords ain't doing jack unless it hurts so much the force translates to blunt trauma aka High ATK build Lona.

Or, as I said, backstab or fire, armor or DEF ain't gonna stop those

Was specifically referring to the bandit during the "save cecily" mission. I had to look up a video walkthrough to complete it. Turns out I have to stun the bandit then talk to Cecily to get her and Gray Rat to kill the bandit. The guide was fucking me over by specifically telling me to kill the bandit myself before talking to Cecily.

This game is honestly a chore to play. The combat is jank, the companion AI is braindead half the time, the missions basically require a guide or about 50 safe scums to complete, and I frankly find the stamina system this game uses to be ridiculously annoying. I'm honestly tempted just to use a cheat mod to make myself a lot stronger so I don't have to essentially AFK and hope my companions kill everything before me or Cecily dies.

Funny I posted a small guide about this years ago

^the early game you're supposed to use your fast thinking skill or plan ahead quite a lot. Late game when you can rack up stat then you can proceed to be the murder hobo you strive to become.
But the obvious thing is if early game Lona struggle to kill a single rat she's not gonna kill anyone any time soon.

Ah but now you're contradicting yourself, you said on a realistic scale and last I checked people don't have stats and not every single person especially bandits who would need to be sneaky and mobile is wearing high quality chainmail, or plate armor

I contradict nothing, read again I guess ? Who said bandit needs to be sneaky and mobile ? I didn't.

You did say something interesting though but I won't pursue it even though it stinks, 99,99% of soldiers whether by choice or draft are male, I just reinforce some common sense here.

Read your first message, and then read your second message if you're too stupid to see the connection then it would be pointless for me to explain it to you

This game leans pretty hard on knowledge check and thinking outside the box. In typical RPG, killing would be the answer to pass through a situation, and since most RPG players are used to this gameplay flow, this is the first thing that come to mind whenever a situation involves dealing with ennemies. This is a sandbox RPG, there's no real concise direction, you have freeedom of options here, it's up to you whether or not you want to experiment. You found out that instead of killing the bandit, you just had to stun him, free up Cecily and have her and Gray Rat kill this stunned bandit in your place. This is what thinking outside the box is. The way to deal with one situation isn't linear. Don't shy away from consulting guide if you get stucked. That's the whole point of learning.

Though I can understand your frustration regarding the game's main mechanics. The first time I played this game, I also went through lots of struggle, however in my case, I got super addicted to the game instead of being put off. I personally think most of the negatives you brought up are a positives to me. The janky combat (or slow/controlled combat as I like to call it) is a positive to me since it enhances the strategic aspect of the game like positioning, taking advantage of environment, etc which is my preferred type of real-time combat as opposed to a typical hack and slash with a more fast paced combat. The stamina makes you want/need to plan your moves. Not having this stamina system and going with the typical HP/MP design would make this game extremely easy and far less interesting since lots of unique and interesting tricks proper to a game like LonaRPG relies on this stamina system.

Still I get it's not for everyone, there's lots of micromanagement and hard thinking to do in early play. This game is a RPG first that's akin to a Dark Soul game before being a porn game (there's very little porn content for you to enjoy here, unless you like super violent porn).

Honestly, in my opinion regarding a lot of these posts. I get the general gist is that many people savescums while learning the rope of the game (And it's perfectly fine, we've all been there, still do) and a large portion of those feel bad savescumming a game instead of having a good time playing an average or easy game that hold their hands (feelgood time).

It just a matter of experience with gaming in general, it's like wine, it will grows with time and experience, but whether people stick with it till it get good/enjoyable or not is an entirely different matter considering the dangerously low attention span state society's heading into.

As i remember Greyrat and Cecily very aggressive against low morality ( negative mora or some lower ). So they auto attack npc with low mora not even need you do anything.

Completely agree.

A big part of why I took CheatMod and modified it into Cheat Menu Framework as it is today is because I wanted to minimize my own need to savescum.

I'm able to enjoy the game thanks to the cheats within. Sometimes even change things up and only have infinite food (satiation) enabled.

Once the game has reached 1.0 I'll try at least 1 full playthrough without (or until I get sick of dying... whichever comes first)
