Just hit me today that the reason I've had such a hard time getting into this game is that, unlike DoL, which generally rewards the player for getting the PC into compromising situations, LRPG instead punishes the player, often severely. Which is odd when it seems like the whole point of the game is to do just that. Despite the very many excellent qualities of the game, I think there may be some fundamental problem here.

You're comparing apples to oranges. You like apples a lot, which is fine, but you're saying the orange has a "fundamental problem" because it doesn't resemble an apple enough. The gameplay is not at all similar. The aim of this game is to not die, and getting raped and captured is an easy and painfully slow way to die.
Edit: You're playing as a person who's essentially in the middle of an isolated apocalypse in a medieval fantasy setting, where the monsters that are trying to catch and fuck you are literally causing the extinction of the island. You find dead women that were clearly used as sex slaves everywhere. How could getting raped = good possibly fit this setting ?

This error whenever I open up chests or anything alike. Upon closing the box the game immediately crashes. There isn't really any posts mentioning any real fix aside from a post 2 years ago mentioning this error, however that post also has yet to have any replies regarding any fixes.

If I had to guess, you're using an outdated and probably cheated save. Like what the fuck are those skills in the W and R slot?
Probably a reason why as I was using random console command on the LonaRPG itchio page. Although I'm unsure whether or not that is the entire reason, as I've also had this error on saves without that command being used.
The command I was using is the [ $TEST=true ] cmd before starting a new game. Debug Devtool commands.

Share your errorlog.txt file that was made by that error. The msgbox doesn't show anywhere near enough info to pinpoint what the issue is.
The first file is one without the debug devtool command (a rebirth of a save with it, as it disappears but not entirely upon rebirthing), 2nd with that command (prior to rebirth). Both being the same error that crashes the game upon opening a chest/bartering.
Yeah my copy is a fresh install.
I do have mods installed, the cheat mod and its fix that's linked in the Extras. I'm pretty sure I installed them correctly as well.

There are some quests in the boards and some npcs that arent translated, is there a fix for that? ive got a fresh install

That one is outdated, the one in my signature is updated and has more features. Though I don't think that is the issue (the battle test stuff in the dependency needs to be commented out or it causes errors)
