The theme of misery and suffering is systemic, and it is not for you and your Lona to change. The island cannot be saved. However, you can influence local tragedies, rescue a few people and, more importantly, save yourself. This is a personal story. Destination: protect your Lona. The game tells you directly to leave the island. When you do, you will have saved at least one life, Lona's, in a sea of suffering.
You are not the hero of the island. You are the hero of Lona. Go and try to protect her smile.
In our world the suffering is systematic as well, however there is always kindness to be found, especiall from those that know suffering themselves.
Seeing what ALL the people I have met in the game are like, makes me think that empathy simply does not exist in that world. Leaving the island doesn't really change Lonas situation, unless there is an explanation later on for why this is a localized phenomenon.
I like grim dark settings, but it needs levity and triumph, even if only temporary, just as much as it needs the misery. I prefer some ups and downs in my fiction, so just slogging numbly through a mire of suffering is exactly what drove me away from this game. I want to like this game for its mechanics and art, so I was hoping that there is some positivity to be found, so I could motivate myself to keep playing.

Ironically, for all its over the top edgelord content, the dev does a good job balancing the gritty hopelessness with a fun narrative. Like most aspiring writers of the genre lean way into the hopelessness aspect to the point that you, the reader/player, become desensitized to it. However, with this game, it's not all cock and ball torture, there's moments where you'll laugh and moments where you'll cheer.

Lona is ironically one of the most believable grimdark protagonists I've ever seen. She doesn't brood, she's not jaded or cynical, and she doesn't try to be the hero. While the world around her may be ridiculous, she's a grounded, balanced person. She has a fairly normal morality compass, but she's also smart enough to recognize when the danger doesn't seem worth the risk. Even when she's timid and cautious 90% of the time, she can be unexpectedly determined and righteous. But she's capable of also deceiving, letting people die, and murder for the sake of her own survival, but none of those things are her core personality. She's simply just trying to keep afloat in a raging storm. It's the people who are resourceful, rational, and determined that are most likely to make it through these kind of settings. The suicidal, violent loners are the ones that usually die first.
I feel like I did not reach the fun narative. To me it did feel absolutel numbing. Am i missing something or is the change of pace just even further into the game?

How many H-scenes in this game so far? Also im curious if Lona can dominate, reverse rape people?
There's a lot of stuff.
Around level 20-30 you can also get the Juicing skill to initiate ambush sex, and if you have bloodlust you can literally explode people with it.
Echoing the sentiment above, this is the best game I can't recommend anybody.

That's mercy killing if you ask me, ripping them apart after raping them, gory shit like some old alien movies/animes in the 80s/90s. Because god forbids they survive the encounter, imagine the STDs and worms/parasites infection contracted from Lona... would not wish that on anyone

Forgive me from being stupid. So i used the old save from previous version and it doesnt have problem to load. Does this mean i played the old version instead of the new version? how does this work exactly? Since the game file is literally the newest one

You have to leave the safety of the starting town basically and/or survive like 2+ weeks to find them. There's no scripted change of pace or anything, you, the player, needs to encounter the events. If you don't mind spoilers and oversimplifications to minimize spoilers, here are some examples:
  1. Rescue someone's sister from a cult
  2. Watch a simp get fucked to death by a forgotten goddess
  3. Kicking a goblin's nuts until they explode
  4. Be the gladiator champion
  5. Bring honor to tribe of well endowed nudists by killing a massive boar
  6. Rescue captured women from monster nests (which you can basically do anywhere without grabbing a quest)
  7. Help defend the borders against the body horror horde
  8. Rescue someone's son who was sold into sexual slavery
  9. Rescue a monkey from a bunch of zoophiles (I'm being completely serious)
  10. Finding and rehabilitating an orphan that's basically a feral child (objectively the best storyline)
  11. Fight a younger and hotter Big Mama
Edit: Removed a couple duplicates.

Why are 2 of those repeated?

Oh shit, I must have forgotten to remove the duplicates when I reorganized the list. Thanks for pointing it out.

To the right of the church is a refugee camp. Talk to the dude standing in front of a captured goblin. He'll ask for a small fee in exchange for a few nutshots at the goblin. Strike First. Strike Hard. No Mercy.

I'm sharing two mods I made.

The first is called Detailed Nose. I understand that Lona's minimalistic nose is a stylistic choice, but it's not a style I'm personally a big fan of. So I tried giving her a more realistic/detailed nose with actual nostrils etc, and I was pretty happy with the results. Anyway, I'm sharing it here in case anyone else likes it too.

It works with moot Lona, nose piercings, etc. And it uses her default color palette, so it'll work with any skin color. The difference is subtle in the smaller pose images (the ones that pop up on the right-hand side of the screen). You're only going to see a bigger difference in the CGs.

Download Detailed Nose

The second one is a really tiny mod that I personally use with Detailed Nose. It just makes Lona's freckles (which can be obtained via rebirth or cheats) much more subtle. They're really light now, and they only surround her nose area.

Download Subtle Freckles

These screenshots show both mods being used together:

Detailed Nose and Subtle Freckles are both installed via the built-in mod loader. So put the folders in your ModScripts\_Mods folder and activate them in-game. I've also included a patch for Detailed Nose and WhiteCum below (I had to tweak some cum images to match her new nose shape). By default, Detailed Nose is packaged with default yellow cum files. The WhiteCum patch needs to be installed manually. The simplest way to handle things is to copy the new cum files from the patch into Detailed Nose's mod folder (overwriting the yellow cum files) and load it above WhiteCum.

Which mod did you use to change Lona’s hair and skin color? It looks great with the mod you created.

Thanks. For the hair color, download Desu Mode (from ) and then download this edit of it: https://f95zone.to/threads/lonarpg-v0-9-0-5-beta-eccma417.49993/post-14055306. The hair color is called "LBrown" in the edited mod. 1) Install the base Desu Mode. 2) Rename "DESUHAIR-LBrown.act" in the edited mod to "DESUHAIR.act" and put it in DESU_MODE\others_pals, replacing the old file. 3) Open DesuPalette.rb with Notepad++ or something similar and add a hashtag before all the "BitmapChanger" lines other than the hair one to deactivate them (unless you want some of the other changes too).

For the skin, put this .json in your PaletteChanger folder:

For me it's kind of an exaggerated parallel to real life. Lona at all points in the game can do anything she wants really. She doesn't need to be on a path to purity, she can deceive people and lie to people or ruin their life for her own gain (like Cecily questline). She just had bad luck being born into a fucked up world and now needs to navigate, but doing good things has virtually no effect on how people treat her because these people themselves can also do stuff however they want, they have no moral obligation to be good to lona even if she saves/helps them. In this sense I think it does a really good job at showing how dirty human nature is which is the exact reason I fell in love with the game.
what is the game name on your left banner ?

Imagine getting Bobo off the island via the ship, paying 10 gold coins or more for a pig. It's wack, but hey it's Bobo, I can make the decision for Lona and I think she would agree, Bobo > others companions because they all have their own scheme whileBobo is just chill, straight up deal or no deal.
Imagine Elise finding out, squealing like fangirl that just got her crackship validated and not-so-subtly feeding Bobo and Lona some ungodly brew of fertility drugs and health supplements in efforts to make one of the many inevitable pregnancies actually last to term.

As for the game's setting, I'm getting a bit of late 18th century France impression (Louis XV and XVI era). The overall technology level, the sharp contrast between elites and masses, the importance of naval travel and trade, the impeding/ongoing failure of basic food supply. Makes you wonder how much of Noer's bread is actually made of wheat and how much is sawdust and plaster. Noer could be one of remote colonies in the era. Where the man in charge is smart and callous enough to redirect people's anger against refugees instead of trying to suppress it by force.
