Just started game and discovered this game a very HARDCORE and not for casual gamer. So, well i understand why it cult and popular but i tired to make constant save load and restarting game.

I got stuck, I think something broke because I am stuck with NPCs around me blocking off an exit, and I cant even talk to them to move or anything, at the Mercs guild after doing the dancer job. Their not hostile or anything.

Any way to no-cilp or whatever?

You can try to throw rock on next tile to "distract" the NPC and make him move.
Or just kill him.

Did I softlock myself? Theoretically, I'd need to complete small, repeatable quests a couple thousand times just to level up my SUR to smoke meat (and I don't see any other grinding methods that are worth it). At that point, the ship ticket price will be 30 gold coins, and the world danger level will be 100, which will be annoying and unbearable

How are you supposed to finish the game without insane grinding, which you'd have to plan in advance and level the character accordingly? (which is obviously not possible for a first walkthrough and is just plain boring. I want to play the game, not cheese the shit out of it)

I assume that becoming a gladiator isn't profitable either. Is it?

You're wrong. Wisdom DOES provide percentage inceases to trading value when selling items. So if you theoretically had 99 Wisdom - you'd be selling items at almost the market value. There's actually a bit of code that puts a hard cap at 95%(or somewhere near it) of trade value while selling items, probably to prevent the cheese of selling items for more than they cost to buy.
