I think i've figured out the source of the problem i've been having on modding these trait values. By the looks of things they get written into ItemConfigs.rvdata2, which is completely incomprehensible to me. So, judging based on the code taken from ItemConfig.rb I believe that the data from all these .json files gets written and compiled into that ItemConfigs.rvdata2 file.

Right now i'm trying to figure out the process needed to edit that or compile a new one. If anyone has any suggestions, or if eccma417 wants to give me any pointers on this part, I would welcome it. If I can get this figured out, it should open up a lot of cool possibilities for anyone interested in modding the game.

Right, makes sense. I gathered how that part works from taking a look at the database. My question is:
How do you configure the values for how much the traits affect your stats.

For example, say I put 3 points into constitution. This would ordinarily increase health by 3 and stamina by 7.5.
By modifying these values we could instead change it so that 3 points of constitution could increase health by 7.5 and stamina 9. Or some other arbitrary value.

My confusion is why modifying the stat increase in the .json files that correspond to each trait doesn't actually change the values in-game.

I think a lot of ppl here already have comments about the artsyle so i will comment on the gameplay.

I like games where there is a steep learning curve but rewards you at the end for attempting and turns you from a Victim, to a Survivor, then to a Master.
Or maybe just a survivor with more skills, head full of bruises, pussy full of parasites, and a bleeding asshole.

If you want to know how it feels like living in rock bottom, forcefully getting in and breaking free from jail, this is the game you want to play.

Also hi eccma417 I'm one of ur old time fan but i'm on ur discord under a different name

Will dev consider putting this game on dlsite once complete? Maybe even japanese translation? I think they would like this

Aha! I could tell it had been loading from rvdata, but I never would have expected this fix to work. Whenever I ran the game using debug mode it always showed up with a message that said "Compressed = False" so I assumed the game was running with compression off at that point.

Adding your script did the trick though, everything is now loading directly from the directories.

Now, one other question. Due to the increased load time that loading from directories causes:
what is the method you used to compile and create the itemconfigs.rvdata2?

I'll be making a guide for everyone on how to do all this stuff once i've made sure everything works right.

Hot damn, this is one of the most unique rpg maker games out there! Really fucking good gameplaywise, but even tho I love me some brown lolis, the violent sex parts are not really for me.
Instead of turned on I just feel bad for the loli...
Strangely, the more inhuman the sex partner, the less violent they seem to be. If you want less face punching then I suggest the abominations up North. They only happen to bruise Lona a bit when trying to grapple her for copulation. Which hole they will poke is still highly uncertain though, but vaginal seems much more likely than with other races (especially since there is no worry of face punching and other brutality).

On another note:

This translation has been bugging me. Lona has just thrown up, and she says, "Feels too comfortable..."
This is what you might say if you sit down in a nice chair that feels so good you don't want to leave.
Instead, I think Lona should say something like, "I feel nauseous.." or even something simple like, "Yuck..." or "Blegh..."
Or maybe gagging and heavy breathing. Most people aren't very talkative after throwing up.

Dear Dev,

Do you plan to put your game to steam? I love supporting indies but I hate monthly subscribtions (cause of hit&run situations) and unreliable payment methods. I hope you do put it on steam so that I can support somehow.

Dear players,

You can use save editior such as " ". Can edit your gold, exp and item numbers. Do not forget about weight restriction though ;)

Another hit against magic: You'll fuck up allies so badly it makes using followers pointless lol. Kills allies faster than enemies, even the frost magic since it hits through enemies. Makes some of the quests a nightmare. NPCs love jumping in front of your magic. Allies really don't handle ambushes well either, if you can't run to the edge of the screen immediately, pretty much any ally will die. The reduced move speed of the timid personality and inability to increase move speed contributes as well, lmao.

Because magic builds can't afford to reduce enemy encounter chance or your ability to run from ambushes and still deal damage, you're double fucked trying to use allies with magic. Any kind of escort quest as a mage really sucks lol.

A way to avoid hitting your allies with magic would be greatly appreciated.
