Overview:
Alright, so this is super confusing, but I'll see if I can get this straight. Lookers was a comic series published by Avatar Press 15-20 years ago. In 2016 Avatar (through their Boundless Comics imprint) revived/rebooted it with Lookers #0, written by Mike Costa, who has written for Wildstorm, IDW, DC and Marvel. From #1 onwards it is written by Pat Shand, who does Belladonna, and drawn by Gabriel Andrade.

The plot of the reboot is that two sisters, one in IT and the other a Cam girl (this really does sound like a bad renpy game) team up to help out women in need....kinda..

Ember is a superhero comic series drawn and written by Christian Zanier who has worked for Darkhorse and also his own pornographic comics, probably best known for Banana Games (I'll post that sooner or later).

Boundless combined these two comics into a single magazine/set/whatever (not sure of the terminology) Called Lookers: Ember. Each issue has a Lookers comic, then an Ember comic and then a Lookers: Origins comic from 15-20 years ago, some of them previously unpublished, some in color for the first time.

IIRC, Lookers is one of several series that Avatar published in the '90s, like Hellina, Pandora, and Widow, in their own limited series or in an anthology called Threshold. They're pretty typical "bad girl" books from the period, except they always involved a lot more random sex and/or nudity than a lot of their contemporaries (next to that old stuff, '90s Witchblade or Billy Tucci's Shi look like kids' comics), and they all seem to inhabit their own shared universe.

Every so often, the guys behind those books pull them out of mothballs and try to do something new with them, usually through Avatar; Hellina got a couple of limited series in the last few years, and Pandora got an ongoing called War Princess that seems to have been quietly cancelled around #13 or so.

Lately, Mike Wolfer and a few of the other guys have been going back to their old characters under an imprint from Avatar called Boundless, which seems to have quietly become the only thing keeping Avatar in business at all, with a bunch of varyingly explicit porn comics starring the old '90s characters: Belladonna, Ivory, Hellina, etc.

Went ahead and looked. This is ostensibly an ongoing and is solicited up to issue #10, but it looks like it's caught a bad case of the indie shipping delays and #8 has been pushed back to the end of June. It was supposed to come out right at the end of March.

I like all the Boundless stuff. Belladonna is the best comic they're currently doing. There's some really crazy stuff in that one. I like the Lookers storyline but the artwork is very meh to me. I wish the Ember strip was longer or they'd give her her own series. I've liked Christian Zanier since Banana Games.

They are about to start up a new Hellina series at the end of this month, and Boundless also does the Jungle Fantasy series as well.
