Project:
- There is no definitive project name, or project yet even. I would like to base it off a semi famous reddit "joke". So there is some framework of an idea that can be worked off of. But, as I want to create a small team who will be learning with me, I would want to make sure everyone is comfortable with the idea first, or perhaps as we can brainstorm an all new idea together.
Developer:
- I just made "Team "eh". I have no previous works. I have done some nsfw 2d drawing before, and I am starting to learn blender and ren'py.
Looking for:
- I am looking to make small team of people who are beginners like myself, who are interested in making a game. If someone wants to focus on learning something specific that's cool, or if you want to be involved in a bit of everything that's also cool. So whether it be writing, coding, 3d modeling, or animation. I'd be interested in learning and working with you.
Employment Type:
- So unfortunately, I believe that the position will be unpaid, I don't have any experience in game creating and I'm not sure if the game is something that would be profitable, and I definitely do not have money to spend to hire people.
Work commitment:
- So this is going to be different for everyone involved. Personally, I am planning to contribute about 5-15 hours a week towards the project, maybe more, but I do have a full time job outside of this project. I would like to try to get to get the game done in about 8 - 12 months. Then again I know very little about game development, or managing a project like this, so the timeline for creating a game might be off, especially since if you are like me, you will be learning as we progress which might cause things to take a little longer than expected.
Preferred method of contact:
- Here on the forum for now, maybe reddit, though once a team is established I will be looking at a better option that works for everyone involved.
Job Description:
- I am looking for beginners who are looking to dip their feet into game design with me, The learning curve seems steep, I'm looking at you blender, almost insurmountable. So I am looking for people who are interested in climbing up that curve with me by just actually doing it. The idea is to create an efficient workflow, and some type of "tutorial" for each other as we learn the different aspects of the development.
Additional comments:
The idea is to create an efficient workflow, and some type of "tutorial" for each other as we learn the different aspects of the development. Like for blender for instance, a guideline for naming objects so that they are easier to find in a team environment. Or for ren'py if you want to implement a type of feature, the type of code necessary and what considerations to make to make it easier to implement. If everyone contributes what they learn effectively I think the learning time should be decreased by a bit, and will have a good reference for the future. Plus, we get to apply what we learn in a "useful" way, and have "accountability" buddies.
To be honest, I have played a few adult VN, and there has been some really good ones, some had some really good renders, some had compelling stories, and others tried cool mechanics to change up the VN format. However I don't think the full potential of VN as a game medium as been reached yet. Through working on a game I hope to come to a better understanding of the limitations of the VN format and what it can be pushed to do.
