shoulda understood that this game is one of those games where you can be a guy but they kinda lean more towards female characters and prefer you were a bottom given that you first party member's question basically halts if you dont let them fuck you

There's really not much content in the game despite it being "0.9.0" you can basically finish the whole thing in like an hour and run out of content. Having said that, the game's about 50-50. There are things you can only do if you have a dick, there are things you can only do if you have a vagina. The moth companion's personal quest isn't necessary to do to move the story forward. It's basically just his romance quest from a design perspective. He doesn't change in any other way than you can now initiate sex with him. So, yeah, initiating sex with him requires that you're willing to have sex with him. Wild concept.

Anyway, I agree, game is kinda bare, but at least it's leaning into interesting turn-based rpg. Ain't getting big hopes for it, but I hope it will develop further.
The mechanics are basically the same as rogshard and rogshard is just about as barebones as this, and is basically abandoned. I don't foresee this will get any further completion-wise either. Dev seems to add very small updates very rarely.
I agree that the system is interesting, but I don't foresee this dev doing anything meaningful with it.

Well, it will be sad if development ceases completely (even with rare updates), yet another game abandoned.
It's seems a constant curse of pornographic games, they either "a bit" cringe or have a good start/mechanics/etc, but game goes long development phase or get abandoned completely. Well, at least some games hit the finish though, like for example Anthro Heat recently, even though I don't have VR game is good + modding.
Worse, Javelinrain's 'romance quest' is not only locked behind the moth companion and his mentor, but also requires you to have three kids... Which can't be with Javelinrain, because it's flat out impossible to get your virility high enough to impregnate her in her first appearance (there's not enough enemies to levelup beforehand, no way to respawn enemies in the limited space you have, and even if you savescum the various lootable containers, there just aren't enough containers capable of dropping enough enchanted equipment to surpass her absurdly high infertility, and the potion of virility doesn't stack with itself), her second appearance doesn't have a sex scene, and she won't fuck you again until you've completed her quest, which... again, is locked behind having three children.
