So it looks like to avoid being late, because the branching and additions like the gallery were more difficult than expected, the dev put out a somewhat buggy release and hopes to fix the issues with Ch. 9 part 2. Looks like I'm better off waiting for the second part to be released.

There's a fix posted that address those errors.
Achievements and gallery menu links & screens are just placeholders. To be honest: dev never promised such features in this version. There's nothing in changelog either. So there's no reason to complain about lacking those features right now imho.
You can uncomment ShowMenu actions in extracontent.rpy, but there's nothing to see but some empty screens.
I never said I was complaining about the gallery. Reread what I said. I don't really care about the gallery anyway, I can just unpack the game and see everything, which is what I do most of the time, unless the unren script doesn't work. But what I said still is accurate. The branching definitely adds to the complexity, and so does adding a gallery, even though to a lesser degree I would assume. As for the "no changelog about the gallery": Duh, the changelog is made after the fact. But the branching was announced and then it was dropped or rather postponed until Ch9 part 2. Clearly the dev opted to release pat of Ch9 now, but he was in a rush, judging by the bugs everyone is encountering. If I had time, I'd probably go back and see that the gallery was also announced and then postponed.

The mod is for chapter 8 as stated. Are you playing the ch8 mod with the ch9 version of the game?
He most certainly does not and is trying to use a outdated Mod with the newest Update.. Reading surely is a unique Ability.
Folks...Just click "New Game" > "Start from Chapter" > Choose your poison > Enjoy. You don't need a working save at all.

Because there's no such error giving code in the game files. But one can find it in mod files.
