You sound like you're glad you moved it to the top of your to-do list. This is a demo??? What an excellent start! I was honestly sad when it ended because I was so into it. Keep up the great work!

Hey everyone,
hope youre all doing great! I'm doing good, and after the much needed break, I feel refreshed and motivated to get back to work.
Over the last week I did some light rework of some scenes, for a more consistent experience. I didnt change anything major, mostly just some improved lighting and adding depth of field.
You can see some of the results above. Gemma's bath scene in a new light and perspective.
Two days ago I officially started development on the next update.
The first scene will predictably be the aftermath of the demo's finale.
I screenwrote the opening, which was surprisingly challenging.
I was considering whether i wanted a seamless transition or a hard transition between updates, and I think a hard transition makes more sense.
It preserves cliffhangers in future game versions, and it gives me the opportunity to interject a recap scene, which I think is necessary for a narrative-driven, episodic game.
I'm pretty happy with that solution and it gives me a opportunity for a creative opening into the next chapter.
I went over the existing script and in the process I realized that it needs some redrafts. I cringed a LOT at my "old" writing. But it also showed me how much I actually improved.
The overall scenes will stay pretty much the same, but the content has to be improved. And since I rewrote some scenes of the demo on the fly, I also have to include those consequences and conclusions in the script.

Its very common practice in pretty much all entertainment media for good reason. but to each their own. thank you!Cliffhangers? Meh. Thanks, but no thanks. I wish you and your game well.
Maybe so. But not always. I grew up in a time when they were part of everything. But then the industry moved away from it for years. They started coming back maybe 10 years ago. But I personally have had enough. Its very common practice in pretty much all entertainment media for good reason. but to each their own. thank you!
yea, making recaps skippable is one of the easiest things to do, no worries.I think hard transitions are fine, but I also think smooth works better if someone replays from the start sometimes. Wish their was a way to do both, but that could add extra work. I will say, make it an option to skip recaps, cause sometimes we may not need recaps especially if we play previous episodes.
Also, I think for cliffhangers, I don't think every episode needs a major cliffhanger, it could be good to mix it up, like maybe its just us hanging out with a couple the girls, going to sleep etc., more peaceful. Maybe other times not related to us and we cut to bad guys and see what is up with them and their plotting. Just think not every episode needs a cliffhanger, cause then it might be too formulaic, just mix it up a bit.
Yay! we need more Mio love! This one is a great start so far. Also a badass MC which is a nice change of pace. Like all the girls but Mio is best girl for me so far. Keep up the good work Sakura!
