I really hope so and I hope I can keep getting updates here. I am happy to pay for the game once its finished but I am not going to pledge to a in progress project again and just have it run for years and years to soak up money.

The dev did it stupid. Instead of leaving and making it look like he got salty (people usually don't bother to inform themselves what happened) he should have played along and have the full traffic benefits from F95.

It's not like Draco was updating anyways, so nothing changes here. The Dev has been radio silent with the exception of one yearly update last summer, so it's not like we're missing out on anything. I don't blame him for not updating here, but he doesn't even bother communicating in his own Discord community, he has to rely on admins; but the biggest offense I think is he doesn't even communicate with the poor Patreon folks paying him monthly, which I was one for a very long time.

I think it's a bit insulting to the people giving him recurring revenue to not even taking a small amount of time once a month to give any updates or progress, it's really not a big ask, but apparently he doesn't care about his own community.

It's a shame because it's a good game, with great characters, good story, has a good niche, and a lot of potential. Draco could be raking in so much more if he actually communicated with his fan base who are desperate for anything from him.

eh not everyone is as good at handling vitriolic negativity. I can't fault a dev for protecting their peace and departing these unhallowed halls.

Well i mean... the dev wouldn't get any very harsh criticisms if he just kept giving updates about how's the game's going and stuff, but when you go radio silent for a year while having tons of people supporting you and giving you money every months and for a whole year you didn't say anything nor pull out any updates for your game (It's not like it's a unity/unreal engine game, it's a damn visual novel...), then yeah you'll get criticized and for a good reason.

Take people's money for a year without saying anything back or giving people some ETA about the game ? Get slammed then. People have enough that this stuff is happening again and again for 8 games out of 10 who are getting abandoned without any notice or any updates for months and years, so yeah it's understandable that people get pretty mad about it. We would prefer that a dev tells us straight "Hey guys i cannot work on this anymore" or "i'll take some time off due to personal reasons, no updates for a while" and you'll see that people will be more understanding about it and less frustrated.

B-but the cash is for morality boosts only and not for benefits or results. You can't take the dev hostage for something as small as taking cash nowadays.

About the "can't work on it anymore" or "it's on hiatus" topic... I see it super mixed. It came up quite often in the past (and still does now) so I dare to claim we have some liars amongst them. Can't proof it ofc but you know, people can be low skilled on moral codes.
