Not trying to undermine or call someone out on stuff, just giving my opinion that the people who simplify the relationship in the game to TLDR "Wife manipulative bitch/ MC Simp" are not really getting how this story works. It's a story about 2 veeery broken people, that need each other to literally exist, because they've spent most of their life (teh childhood making a huge impact on both) being each other's only pillar of support and now everything that "threatens" or smells of abandonment creates monsters in their heads. Trying to "impersonate" the MC, but keeping your own beliefs will just make you hate the game, because of course any sane person would have run away from that situation 100 times over.
I'm not very good or eloquent with words to make a better statement than that sadly, but I feel the dev hit the points very well and if you try to follow the story closely (no fast read/skip) will provide a way better experience.

Hey, as someone who had quite a frustrating time, I agree with you, and I actually played to the ending anyway, that should mean something lol. I think it's quite a fucked up and toxic relationship, both the mc and Lacey are WAY too dependant on each other, is like they can't exist without the other, and they end up hurting each other on the way. I do feel certain things could be worked better tho, the game feels way too much like a rollercoaster I think, it's like, something good happens, right after something twice as bad happens as well, the very mc says something like this to Lacey "are we doomed to always take one step forwards and two back?", and i feel like there's just so many times you can use that excuse about her mind being fucked to justify her actions before it becomes kinda difficult to see as anything but manipulative. For the people not being able to start the game: Not sure if this will help, but I had issues unpacking builds with 7zip in the past (some other users complained about this too, on many other threads). I switched to Winrar and never hit that issue again.
I have no other good advice sadly, maybe if the dev comes around here or has a discord, you can check there for more info.

I used winrar (I use winrar to decrypt all) and it didn't work. It's weird how many other people also has this problem while other people can play without problems

Well, since you've already said you are a bit familiar with traumas, you should probably know that for people that haven't gotten past that trauma, it will be very much used as an excuse, a coping mechanism or a defense strategy. At least in their point of view. Seeing this from afar, it's very easy to make a judgement like that.

I mean, opens normally on my win 11, This is the file structure you need to end up with, a folder with these files
Only think I could think of is if your windows is 32bits, which i find hard, as I'm not sure if this version of renpy runs 32bit, you downloaded the mac version by mistake or it's simply not extracting correctly for some reason, on windows 11 at least all you have to do is enter the zip, copy the folder inside and paste outside somewhere honestly, windows auto extracts it on 11 at least
Yes you are right on all fronts, people with traumas will try to use that as an excuse, while saying it is not an excuse but use it nonetheless.
It is for everyone else to put a stop to the excuses and to start the healing / recovering process and to avoid damage to the people around them they supposedly care about.
Most of the time the level of critical thinking is a bit junior year at an american college: male ego comments, white guy comments, trauma being fetishized, which are very dehumanizing and naive.
But you said it perfectly, we should not expect prize worthy storytelling, I just got duped by the various comments and the overview, so I dropped my 2c

Just hope Mias remark to Kelly about the MC getting off the roller-coaster and Kelly being there to pick up the pieces isn't pointing to the GF death. She clearly can't live without him.

I quite like the game, but a few things annoyed me, not game breakers, just really annoying.
It took waaaay too long to get in to the meat of the game, it was like beating around the bush for hours, then the game finally gets somewhere and that was the end of the act. The MCs wife explained to her husband multiple times but he was too thick to understand her, Anna pissed me off, she was acting from a position of she wanted the mc to leave his wife to her benefit so she could have him to herself, Mia gets away with a lot of the problems that the mc and Lacey have, if not for her, ok maybe Lacey might have committed suicide, but her intervention certainly turned her in to a slut and to be honest, for someone that suffered being raped twice, once by her own brother, and she did that to Lacey, doesn't make her look good. To be honest, with friends like Anna & Mia, Lacey doesn't need enemies.

What do you think the MC is too thick to understand? I would be interested to see a different perspective.
Anna actions for once were for the MC interest, seems weird that you see her as a threat to Lacey, since she supported her on numerous occasions.
Agreed about Mia, I dont know what the author plans were for her, but je written a literal monster, the suicide thing is pure copium for her degenerate behaviour, people cannot predict the future.
