I'm not sure what causes the exact error you're running into, here are some general troubleshooting tips from another game that runs on the same engine:

You must be registered to see the links

Also it's not a bad practice to place your games in a simple path. I use c:\games\ for all downloads from here.

f is the current one on patreon, it has the kleio in studio event but the game has errors every time you try to give a gift

The version 18.10.1F is written on the main screen, but the title of the startup file is LoSeSb-Public.exe, I have not played yet, try it yourself:
