That's not the only way. You have to not answer her call and do the gaming tournament which takes 5 in-game days to go over 50. I know because i did just yesterday. Bree Gaming event is actually longer than the maid event.

Requirement Days Passed >10,
Sigh I was used to always getting the search for Emma done before week 2,
Now I gotta be extra diligent in not progressing that hell spawn Kylie.
Day 1 is day 5 on the calendar,
So Dreams of Emma won't trigger till day 15.
Well I'm on day 27 and it still won't trigger,
20% chance perhaps I'm just unlucky,
I'll go all out once Minami arrives..
