Are you talking about this one? The mediafire link works fine. It is also available on Ryuugames. The link for the Ryuu one and the MTL for it is in my post above yours.

using shift_jis encoding. That will create a file called message.txt. For each pair, translate the bottom entry and leave the top one alone. Insert new lines with \n. Then use MsgTool to repackage the entries in message.txt to message.dat so the game can load them. hmm this is odd I can't get either game to start up after I finish installing it. I am running the Japanese Local and Japanese Unicode. There is no error or anything. Just has the blue circle for a few seconds and then nothing.

There are known issues with games from AK BB not starting to due locale issues. There are few things you can try. There are some reports of people able to make it work by changing the regional time format. There was also another report of complete incompatibility with Windows 11 due to known locale issues in Windows 11.

Ah the unicode thing was me copying what someone else who was helping me said. Either way I've tried the time thing among other things. After trying to the demos on dlsite I think it just hates my computer so I'm probably just going to give up on it.

Try changing the locale back to English (US). That worked for Windows 7. If your non-Windows 11 computer has any weird settings from messing with it a lot, that should also undo them.

So I tried going back and even getting a locale emulator. Starting it normal does nothing like expected but using the emulator gets a japanese error which translates to "System data loading failed!"
