Unfortunately that's a trick used on many textures. It's a shadow-line added intentionally because the butt doesn't show contours as well as it should and the line enhances what should be there. The problem, of course, is that while that line fixes/enhances the image in many poses, in the remaining poses/lighting angles it completely ruins the image.
