Ren'Py - Completed - Lust Academy [S4 v4.10.2a DLCs] [Bear in the Night]

Models, renders, and sets are average to above average. But, typical for me, the writing is inexperienced and amateurish.

Aside from the crutch of "inner monologue" being prevalent throughout Season 1 and Season 2 (early S2 is where I am now), the entire way that everything revolving around the "Ashley arc" for S2 is abysmal. Having Samantha AND the MC treating Ashley the same way that Don and Olivia do, just from a different perspective, is just sad, in my opinion. The two people who have DIRECT life experience reasons to be the most supportive to a very desperate and vulnerable Ashley are instead being abusers themselves. Maybe this is a "Lost in Translation" thing and whoever translated the original language is the culprit. Regardless, as stated in other reviews, things go from "average" in S1 to going downhill in S2. Everyone from S1 seems to have gone into high maintenance mode, all having major issues that somehow the MC that doesn't know how to be a supportive brother yet somehow knows how to help (eventually, I assume) everyone else get over their issues.

The longer this goes on, the worse it gets. If it weren't for the gratuitous use of inner monologue, I would swear this was a different scriptwriter than Season 1. Then again, so many of the authors of the scripts for these games are untrained and use tons of inner monologue, so it could easily be another scriptwriter with the same bad habits. Season 2 translation comes across like this.

Honestly, not a "game" it's a VN, should have the tag as such but I saw Ren'Py so I thought it might have something. It did not.

You are a horny young adult, with an abusive family, sent to a magical school, where you can abuse your powers to sex the other students and teachers. However my main attraction I saw as the sleep sex, which, as usual, was just sleep molestation. Disappointing.

Models are nice, though only one really feels harry potter inspired, looking at you Horyme Banger. However most of the sexy scenes are pretty tame. Yeah there's a lot of cheating and sleeping around you can do, but it's all on the level of a reality TV drama. Which I can't stand.

Was hoping for more of an evil path, mind controlling girls into being your horny sex witches, influencing the top brass into changing up the school policies for sexier uniforms, looser restrictions for adult actions, and adding new required curriculum. Prowling the school at night to bone slumbering witches, having to learn door passwords to gain entry, learn spells or craft potions to put them into a deep sleep, but alas, this was far more... basic.

Overall, not a game for fapping, too much reading, some sexy time but too spaced out between pretty big dumps of story that written well enough but just leave me limper than a house elf.

The art is good, probably one of the best I've seen till now but otherwise it's bad... The setting was very good and at the beginning the story showed promise, however it was handled very poorly in the successive releases... By the end of the second season i was skipping most of the game as it had become very bland by that point... There is a great variety of characters however most of them are never developed or even if they are, it is done in such a mind numbingly dumb manner that you lose all the interest and affection you had for the character... The sex scenes are also very bland and repetitive...

I usually do not review any game which does not pick my interest(positive or negative). But I am going to do this one because the "screw up" is totally unique for this game.

This dev here is certainly unique because he is not bad at anything except for planning and excecution I believe.

MODELS AND RENDER
His models are superb but the sex scenes are sub par. Mostly garbage. The renderingis good which proves he has great hardware setup. I believe he is just lazy, this further proves with his story( discussed later)
There were probably 2 scenes which showed the strength of the dev. One is the riverside sex scence with the potion teacher and another is a scene with Samantha, The Alice scene is good too. Except these scences, most of the sex scenes are plain waste of these high quality rendering.
I think dev's brain lacks proper authority over vectoring that's why the art suffers so much or he is just lazy, wanna deliver but does not care about proper finishing.

STORY
Whenever you do a fantasy or mystery story your story must at least have depth and coherency. All these newcomers dev seem to forget this really important part.
This game has one of the weakest story I have seen. This has no depth and no coherency. Other devs at least try to create depth even by sacrificing coherency. This dev has no intention of doing either. A total lazyasss dev.
When the game theme is magic academy then the primary focus would be on the tournaments or any academy game/contest. This dev here does not do that, neither does anything interesting with the original plot. The story is so bland that even with 4 seasons you won't feel connected to any charcter.

Conclusion:
This game will be a disappointment to any type of readers.
The story won't be engaging.
The sex scenes won't be arousing,
There won't be any proper emotional buildup even though it has 4 seasons. ..
Overal If you wanna enjoy story, find a different one, if you wanna fap, there are many other VNs better than this one.

Oh,,,, Forgot to say it has one of the worst naming out there. The title definitely does not match the story.

It was off to a pretty good start:
- A scenario that just about made sense,
- Female characters who didn't all look like blow-up dolls or porn stars (there were some, but at least the player had a choice).
- Interesting mini-games.
- Great animations, beautiful graphics and real art direction. In short, all the ingredients of an good “adult” game at last.

Unfortunately, things started to go wrong in season 2. Endless and illogical dialogues. Sentences repeated ad nauseam: “just like that” (I think I read these three words at least fifty times, and almost during every sex scene).

Characters, sequences and a story from the worst gonzo movies.
"Lust Academy" or how to start with a good game and end up with an unfinished, disappointing, immature “thing”. It had really well-written, engaging characters like Samantha, Haley and Lily, and the story turned them into vulgar sluts.

Story is average to be honest .But the main thing about adult games is always the sex scenes .So about that I will tell what I think from my perspective that I don't like .As this game has covered creampie aspect poorly I don't like that minimal sex scenes have proper creampie scenes ,some creampie scenes are shown from side angle that are not well made .Proper Creampie scenes are very less in this game of 4 seasons .I like creampie so yeah it's a major dislike that it doesn't have creampie scenes in all sex scenes .Like other devs this dev also seems scared of something that he can't show proper creampie scenes in all sex scenes .Harem system in this game is not actually harem in real sense as mc and girls interaction always remain as if nothing happened between them when he is with more than one girl at the same time .I am not disliking it but it is also a point to take in consideration since this game has harem tag .If proper creampie scenes can be included in all sex scenes then for sure this game would have been 5 star for me .

I never play incomplete products, so I did a long sandbox run from the first to the last season. Many hours spent.
As other users have already said, it is not a real visual novel as there are no relevant choices to make and there are no paths. The choices are reduced to seeing or not seeing a certain scene, but the story continues anyway and in the same way. All interspersed with nice but useless QTEs.

The positive sides are good graphics, very attractive girls and an interesting story. The negative sides are excessive length, the division into seasons (which no one likes, except the developer who takes money for incomplete pieces), the lack of correlation between the various characters (MC can have relationships with anyone without anyone noticing).

Despite 5 years of development and many seasons, Lust Academy is still not finished. You will read an incomplete main story, without any ending that justifies your time spent. The secondary stories, all unconnected, are even worse, left there half-finished without any logic. Too bad.

If it had been developed differently, with an orientation towards the end user and not towards money, it would have been a product with high potential, instead it turns out to be a very long Kinetic Novel that I do not recommend to anyone. No comment on lgbt propaganda, disgusting.

First of all: this is not a finished game at all! Another on going long story with infinite seasons. So if you want a complete story with a start and an end, do not waste your time.
Second point: this is not a game or a visual novel. It is a Kinetic Novel without choices or paths. There are a couple of choices but they are just "see or not see" a sex scene. Basically you have a map (in sandbox mode) where you click to see and read a part of a story. Then repeat and repeat and repeat. There are some useless QTE events, as battles, but you can easily skip them.
Third: all stories are barely correlated. It is a mixture of romantic and sexual stories with a lot of different girls who don't interact with each other. All sexual scenes are mostly the same with different faces and bodies. Variaty of kinks is small.
I think Lust Academy is mostly a product for getting money from very young Steam users, who likes "seasons" and easy fap.
Renderings are very good and girls really nice (Haley and Scarlett above all). But is is definitely not enough. In my opinion it is a waste of time, a lot of time, and I do not suggest to play it.

One of the more consistent devs on this site, good with content and great story. Building from each and every season along with properly following each one up with more content that connect to each character. Best series so far in my opinion.

Has great direction in the first season, the other 3 seasons lose alot of the mechanics and would be no better than just pornhubbing it.

Reviews are very doctored too. Dev clearly has a friend of f95 and when a f95 staff deletes a review, the reviewer dose not have a chance to course correct it or even be told what was wrong with it in the first place.

1st season, has a bit of everything, teasing, corruption and relationship building. Also entertaining fighting mechanics and some puzzle. The rest like characters and story dont even need a description, they are done incredibley well,

2nd, 3rd & 4th seasons are just same, bland, boring games that are being churned out. Blindly fk simulators without anything special or additions.

Would have been so much better if they took a final fantasy approach and made a brand new game for each sequel.

Would just ignore seasons 2-4 and you will have a good time.

I really like the game. The animations and renders are great. The dialogue needs a lot of improvement. If the conversations are going to be long, they better be entertaining or meaningful. Also, if you can add a translation into Spanish it would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah.. average sums this game up perfectly.

Even hogwarts official "game" seems way too linear and boring at times; I'm thankful I only spent 15$ on it. This in a sense is kind of what I wanted it to be in the classes/classmates/dueling retrospect. Cool with that out of the way time for negatives.

Story - I was interested for the first part/act and immediately lost interest when again it went down the route of HP being the chosen one etc. Is it so crazy to just be the badass unexpected student? Why go over the top hero nonsense who has to help everyone's dreams come true.

Sometimes people just wanna see someone naturally struggling or building up from a nobody to a somebody with no special requisites tacked on. Even whoop down the smack down on whoever is supposedly the chosen one would be cool.

I stopped at S2 not too far in when I saw almost if not exact same cut out backgrounds. Kinda silly but nothing in S2 looked like an improvement on what could of been, not sure if its a limitation on the dev or just laziness.

Causing me to get burnt out suddenly as getting by S1 takes a long time even if you focus on one girl only, like if you played a MMO grind.

Again no real laughs here just a meh.. could be a lot better.

Good idea for a game, but it's missing key elements to make it truly engaging to play.

The art is well-executed, with great scenes and models. However, a major exception is the MC, who, while not necessarily bad, feels plain and visually unappealing. This is compounded by his personality—despite having some dialogue choices, he still comes across as egotistical and spineless.

The first chapter is the most interesting, serving as a solid introduction to the overall story and feeling intriguing enough. Unfortunately, the later chapters lack immersion, as the story doesn’t feel well-connected. The second chapter, in particular, seems more like a transition from the first act into the broader, more complex narrative, but the connection is too subtle to really hold my interest.

FINAL THOUGHTS & SUGGESTIONS:

• The MC's look is meh to me at best, he has to me very little sex appeal to be as successful in his exploits with the woman, his face looks like a potatoe, with all the lumpy features, like Clayface or maybe he is related to cro-magnon man (google it). Several times his brow has looked very prominent and his eyes deep set enough that in some stills you couldnt really see his eyes well. Not my imagination. Then his body looks like his foster parents hardly fed him, shame...
• While this game is good, I would have liked to have seen more of what you find in Worlds of Wonders, that idea is more appealing to me and the kinks are very nice there, at least whats available. The idea is generally similar though.

The good...

The setting, story, characters (except MC), LiS and their story arc and development, to some degree the animations.

The Bad...

Not particularly bad but while some of LiS and their story feels genuine and deep enough, some others are pretty much rushed and that's because the quantity. Other than that some extreme posing seem to be breaking rig skinning and thus it doesn't really look appealing when it most matter. Early chapters of the game heavily suffer from similar issue with facial expressions.

And the UGLY!...

The MC model is such an abomination that could've been a suit for a dumb villian npc character instead. From his facial expression to non existent likness, I find that he's the core element of turn off in this game. And the constant appearance of MC on the screen doesn't help it at all. I had to cut down one star just for the choice of MC model. Otherwise it's a fun game as long as you don't mind the look of MC.

I've forgotten when I first played it, at first I chose to give it up because I was sick of the sandbox mode, then after updating it with the visual novel mode, I've been the first to play it every time it's been updated, with a steady frequency of updates that surpasses 99% of porn game developers, and without realizing it, from Season 1 to Season 4, I still find the story to be very interesting!

Lots of content and things to keep you busy while the stories unfold. Simple to navigate the game's interface and of course high quality renders to help immerse yourself in a game wildly different from most other things you find on f95.

I just played this game for the first time (as of the S4 v4.6.1d version), I know I was getting into a game with mixed reviews and I expected to play something interesting/memorable.
My thoughts in short: Pretty to look at, bland, forgettable and a colossal waste of time. Let me explain:

★ ★ ★ Presentation ★ ★ ★
At first glance the game looks well put together but it suffers from a couple of terrible choices that bring it down, firstly the game is separated in two parts: you can choose to play it as a straight visual novel or a free roam sandbox I fell into the trap of playing as a sandbox but this was a terrible mistake (ill elaborate further down) as a result of this choice a lot of the game ends up being disjointed in how it presents itself and the user suffers as a consequence the second problem is that this VN is both hollow and shallow so all the presentation does is look as meaningless veneer

★Gameplay ★
You have two options: a kinetic novel with no choices or a free roam sandbox VN that is a complete waste of time, I tried the sandbox first then switched to the visual novel style halfway. Both are bad for different reasons but the VN style comes on top since you can ctrl skip and be done with it.
The main problem with the sandbox is that it doesn't have any systems whatsoever it LOOKS like it does but it doesn't have any, you just hunt down events for the girls you like and advance the main story until you are ready to jump to the next chapter, the VN on the other hand has no thought put into it, lack of choices aside it feels like the game was designed as a sandbox first so all the events and reading that you do feel disjointed and our point of view jumps around without logic or explanation

For the most part the music is forgettable but it does its job, I do take issue with the sound effects, a lot of them are lower quality and some of the grunts and gestures by the girls feel out of character and mechanical. It's a mixed bag overall I didn't hate it

★ ★Visuals ★ ★
On a technical level most renders look good, there are some hiccups with some of the animations looking choppy and a few of the poses looking weird but it's workable for the most part, however I have a couple of grievances:
Art style is anachronistic and all over the place, setting takes place in a magic school but everyone wears clothes like they are on an office building while being surrounded by medieval/fantasy assets, you have a potions "teacher" dressed like a secretary and If you have done any chemistry/labwork you would know how terrible of an idea being dressed like that is, just to clarify I don't mind modern clothing in this type of setting just that no effort was put in to sell the fact that we are attending an ancient magic school.
My other problem is with the models, save for a few exceptions almost all of them look like they are wearing implants, this gives a "plastic" feeling to everything that also translates into the porn scenes unfortunately

★Writing ★
My main criticism is that the dev didn't put the effort to justify how characters feel or act, It reads fine for the most part, some typos, odd phrasings here and there but It's terrible in the most boring way possible, our MC is your typical: sex pest, "nice" guy, entailed, doormat, casanova, mary sue chosen one with a dark troubled past, dumbo looking cunt. All the girls and boys love him and if they don't they are a bad guy or they will like him eventually, he always gets what he wants and knows what to do at any given point. It gets tiresome quickly, the MC is absolutely pathetic and uncharismatic, flirting sounds out of touch and no girl would realistically let him get away with any of that, dude throws empty platitudes all the time and girls look at him like he is the most insightful guy ever lmao what.
The girls have nothing going for them either since all the things they do revolve around the MC in some way and they don't have a character outside of that, there's no build up with any of them they just go from strangers to being in love with the MC with nothing happening between that.
And as for the main story it doesn't really matter as it goes nowhere, it's a sequence of loosely related events that only serve to fellate the main character

★Porn ★
This game is very vanilla, I have nothing against vanilla sex, some of my favorite games are purely vanilla. Lust Academy dev has in his hands a fantasy setting where anything is possible: Invisible sex in the middle of the classroom, lust curses, shapeshifting sex, accidental love potions, shrinking/enlarging, bimbofication potions/spells, sleeping curse that can only be cured with sex, ghost blowjobs in the bathroom, mind control, lactation as a side effect of a class mishap, etc I could go on and on with these, the porn writes itself but dev decided that 95% of the scenes are going to be inoffensive vaginal sex in the bedroom, a forest, or the shower lmao WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING? Pardon the food analogy but it's like going to a buffet and only getting white rice and lukewarm water for yourself and the whole family. Don't get me wrong it is still fappable but once you see one scene you've seen most of them since it's almost always vaginal sex on top of a bed, there's no variety except sometimes you would see some brief dick nibbling or a partial titjob but never a full bj/hj/tj on their own. It's just vaginal sex after vaginal sex with some brief snippets of the mc molesting his roommates while they sleep. There are a couple of scenes that take advantage of the fantasy setting but it's not enough.
You can do a lot of fun vanilla things with the magic shown in the HP movies, but the dev is either not smart/creative enough for such things or he just wanted to fuck Emma Watson and everything else is just fluff in his eyes.

Final Thoughts
I really tried to give this game a fair shot in its entirety, I really did. if you like the renders and don't read that much in these type of games I think you will enjoy what it has to offer. If you are more cultured you will come out of it frustrated at best since a lot of this VN does feel like a missed opportunity.
At the end of the day it did nothing for me, for so long I avoided this game because of the Emma Watson expy, I thought it was lazy and unimaginative now I know better for next time.

To new comers, I hope this get through you.
- This game have 2 gameplay : 1 is SANBOX and other is VN. But they have the same contents of the story and scene.
- Choices in game is simple. And there is only 2 choices of interest : Yes for interest, decline for not interest. No wrong answers.
- Sandbox :
+ Mid grinding - only about 10 of different items and resources - If you grind for hours then you are rich until the game die.
+ Quest and progress : Very simple and there is no time pressure. Everything is instructed in character tab. Nothing complex - no spaghetti - no confusion.
+ Point and click won't be an issue in 99% of the game.
- The story maybe mediocre, but it's absolutely not a bad one.
- The game is mainly for Sandbox so VN mode would be fast.
- You can't miss any scenes in 1 play unless you want to ( except there are some scenes in Ep 1 ). And they won't effect your relationship either.
- All models are beauty.
The only reason you see the game have 3.5/5 rating is because there are all kind of people in here.
