I was happy to find this game maybe finally going on. I started it with anticipation and found BATTLES even more annoying than ever. I am not into battles unless they have some dynamics going on, especially clothing damage with female protagonists.

I did not even finish the very first battle. AGES without getting anywhere - I am out.

You have to use the stun spell now. Then, the death hand spell will work.

Same here. Any battle attack I have in Lisa's mind doesn't have effect either.

Okay I think we need to start over it works if I don't use an old save.

about the "jess fight" patch, does it work on the compressed ver? because i have been trying, but no dice.

EDIT: quick note here, i tried to JUST steal it, and it seems to work, my problem was, i was stunning her first and THEN stealing, and was getting that crash.

So:
Cant open Doors: Start a new game instead of using an old savegame.
Cant strip Jess: Use the Patch that Manfegor posted here.
Cant do the "love path" because after the mom talk you get kicked back to main menu: Install this Cheat Mod by D.S.-sama. So you get thrown back to kitchen and the talk is "done".

Note: Both files will have numbers as prefixes. You need to delete them.
The Filenames should be:
"battle_jess.rpy" To fix the "Can't Strip Jesse bug"
and
"D.S.Mod_v0.2.1d_Lust_and_Power-0.20.b.rpa" to fix all bugs that kick you back to main menu. (and to cheat )

All files should be placed in "\Lust_and_Power-0.21\game\"

It's hard to imagine the thought processes that led to the dev deciding what he really needed to do was make the battles twice as tedious as before.

Solved it! And probably others are having this problem.

When you download the patch, it gets named with a numerical prefix. I needed to delete the numbers and the underscore from the patch filename.

script.rpy, line 32 reads...
$ v_patron = 17 # 0 means not patron, 17 means patron
It's a lie. Change it to..
$ v_patron = 0 # 0 means not patron, 17 means patron

Now it works.

I would wait on that. I think he's changed it since then. I don't have the time to dig into it now. But maybe someone smarter than me at Ren'Py can take a look and maybe write a patch for it.

my advice for the battles is, focus on leveling the first skill to 2 dmg, then go for stun until you get a 3 sec duration, then dmg and recovery until both are topped, finally, go for the steal, after that, it doesnt really matter.

when you face the asshole chick, just stun her and run until you get the steal maxed(as it seems, that if you try to steal after a stun, the game crashes, at least that how it was for me).

So it's not really the script.rpy, but the init.rpy, also it's not the best to bother that.
Just copy the attached fix into the /game folder and you should be able to use the spells.

Thanks @Ubik for sharing, Mod needs to be updated each version. It's the same thing as the patch but includes more cheating options without you having to type commands.
